On the Read only news section of forums.xbox.com they posted a list of things the new XBox Live feature would include. Clan support, map editor for games, act.

They also mention a logo creator that could be implanted into future games. Who would want to make a customary logo (hopefully these aren't just for clans either, I want to make a personal one just for me) for themselfs in Halo 2?

I know I would take the time to make me one =]

I think this post was really a ton of information. (the tsunami specs post) If it is going to support a map editor, clan support, logo, etc. you know that HALO 2 will have it.

Bungie released HALO to be the "kickoff" game for the xbox, and I think they are going to want to release HALO 2 as the premeire game for the new XBlive (tsunami) features. I think they will showcase everything availible in HALO 2. It just makes sense.

It sounds awesome.

I don't really see how a map editor fits into all this. Are they just trying to say that a game which features customizable maps will have live support by allowing others to download what you have created? Clan support, logo creation and all the other jazz is stuff which makes sense and can be implemented easily by a multitude of other games. Map editors are not so generic and are much harder for developers to build into games just because live said so.

Don't necessarily think editors built into the console game. I think an easier way to do it is to provide it to PCs from xbox.com and let people download their maps to their profiles- all from the net.

Otherwise- I agree, building in an editor into a console game might be a bit hard.

The use of PCs to create live available maps is a killer idea which should be implemented. Just lump all the pc created maps in there with the downloadable content and you would be set. It would also take the strain of the developers by letting them exclude it (mapeditors) from the console versions of the games.

The idea is that once people DO create maps in a game, XBox Live will now have a community to allow you to share/download them.
