I'll be on my own side.

I don't think it's used in nukes. Uranuim isn't used any more- plutonium/tritium combo.

Subject: During X-rays- what is the apron for?!!?!?

And goweb- you're applying for Oxford? Thats awesome! I want to go to Harvard or Yale- got any hints?
Well I did, but the bastards didn't take me. Then again, only one person out of five who applied from my school got in (usually, there are none).
Study up on what alpha, beta, and gamma radiation are made of, then you'll know that it's true.
Gamma rays aren't made of anything - they're just EM waves.
your head stop nuclear waves? thats like having carboard for body armor.
Paper stops alpha particles, so it's not really that surprising.

About that rat thingy I said... It was sarcasum. I was joking.

Oh, And it's easy to tell there is an isotope in smoke detectors cuse they have a Warning Radiation symbol on the bottom of the Smoke Detectors case.

Just because people left doesn't mean they aren't smart... I don't know half of what you guys are talking about and I have a 4.5 GPA... (yes I said 4.5)

  • 06.30.2004 5:58 PM PDT

Wow, 4.5.

Sorry, I actually have no idea what that means, so I'm trying to respond with the correct response.

Agreed, goweb, I'm from Australia and here we have the HSC, UAI and the University rating thingy... I don't have any ratings for these yet, scince I'm still doing my HSC, and can't be bothered to check my UAI rating at the moment. I can tell you something though, a UAI below 80 isn't worth bosting about...

Nuff said me thinks.

Don't worry, I'm just tooting my horn. I'm a very headstrong fellow if you haven't noticed.
And the GPA is an average of your grades... 4 being A, 3 being B, and so on. But I'm in the IB program, so my IB classes are all shifted up a notch on the grading scale, therefore an A counts as 5 rather than 4. So in fact- I got that average with 2 B's.
And sorry to act so full of myself- thats just how I am. Full of myself. Very full of myself.

Oh I conceal it well enough. Sometimes it just spills out of me.
But is there anything wrong with having confidence?!?!
And how did we get to this, when the topic is about wearing lead aprons?

Ok I admit its partially my fault.

Like I said, I'm headstrong. I can't be entirely at fault! (Although thats not completely true).

But I am glad that bungie's forum goers have responded so well to my question. It was a question I needed answered, and I'd say they did a great job of answering it. Kudos, guys.
