Yes i wrote this becuase of the dumbasses in that other thread who says theres no way of alien life. even tho we may never see them.

look at it this way

Our earth is massive to us insanely big you can barely see the curve in the flat ocean

but our earth is also small little pebble compared to other planets in our galaxy

Hell we dont have a 100% idea of whats up in Jupiter

It will be a damn while before we get to mars even

government might cut fnding for nasa MIGHT they already cut out the hubble telescope there just going to let it fall

any ways the nearest star besides our sun is about 4.3 lightyears away

if we tried to go there with the speed of our current craft it would take nearly 37,000 years
to get there traveling at about 17,000 miles an hour

THAT is the second closest star

there are hundreds of billions of stars in our galaxy most of them having planets of systems

THEN it does not end there, its theoreid that there are also hundreds of billions of galaxys
throughout our universe

Its also theried that our universe is ever expanading

bringing up the question are there other universe's

even if its a single celled organism that means that there is life somewhere else

BUT how anyone could EVER say that there is not life out there makes me more pissed then i get at Hilary Duff.

People should not talk when they dont know crap

No other planet systems have been confirmed, but other than that, your info is acurate.

be careful, this could turn political/religious- I believe everything was formed in one breath by the Almighty.

hypothetical situation- if there are aliens, do you think they are sentient or non-sentient?

(like people, or like animals [respectively])

Yeah why else would god make all those galaxies? I think there has to be some kind of life out there, at least something with greater intelligence than Deathpotato.

huh

well you know there are microscopic lifeforms i lava beds that survive in extreme tempeture

so they where going to make a probe to go to venus to check to see if they exist there if they do then life is possible on other planets ruling out alot of theories

i dont know the progress on this project tho

SETI has been an ongoing project for over 30 years. If there was any sentient life reasonably nearby, I thing we would've intercepted at least one radio transmission by now.

SETI=Search for Extra-Terrestrial Life if you didnt know

no i dont think so. it takes about 30 light years to get to some of the nearer star systems, and radio waves travel much slower,so they probably havent reached us yet

XBL: FTG Spartan
But you were dead a thousand times. Hopeless encounters successfully won. A man long dead, grafted to machines your builders did not understand. You follow the path, fitting in to an infinite pattern.
Yours to manipulate, to destroy and rebuild.
Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.
I know who you are.
You are Destiny.

Nearby, however there is still far away.

First: Light years are not a time measurement.

Second: Radio waves travel at the speed of light- because they're light!

i know that its not measured as a distance, but if it takes 30 light years for light to get here from whatever star system, its gonna take a lot longer for radio waves to get here.and radio waves are NOT light.thats where i think youre wrong

scientists think that the radio waves will break up at that ditance

plus theres this crap around our solar system that doesent sllow normal waves to go through
its a ring in line with our planets so wee can still go to stars aove and bellow us

NO! it IS a distance, it's NOT a "time measurement" is what I said!

Nothing travels for "light years", light year is a distance (like a mile or kilometer)!
