...and why is that?...

Born: 1983.
Chances of living to be 521 years old: 0.

I think the odds are against me.

No, if it was happening right as we speak.

We'd be dead while we sleep... We have no space weapons, nor any kind of weapon of any real potential to defeat something like that. Hell, our nukes wouldn't even make an elite flinch.

Ok, say it was 2552 right now. The UNSC has been covering it up for the last 30 or so years. You just now find out.

...?...

The laws of probability state that there must be other life in the Universe. However, the chance of any alien life actually visiting us is less than the chance of winning the lottery, being struck by lightning, being hit by an asteroid, and surviving unscathed, all in the space of a microsecond.

The sad thing is for all of us is that we will probably never find out if there is other life in our universe. We will never be able to experience being with the stars or going to other planets. It's sad to think that we'll miss out on that (like the other generations), because their are just so many things that we will not be able to find the answers to in our life time.

By the way...did they ever find out anything more about that so called "mystery" planet that is said to be on the edge of the Milky Way?
