I got Halopc a few days ago and of course downloaded CE. Now, I have a few questions about making a server. 1) How do I make one 2) Does it cost anything 3) If so how much does it cost. Thanks for any help you guys give me.

Get HaloCE Dedicated Server - it's a seperate download. Also think about getting the graphical interface server setup. Basically, it runs off of a .txt file that you make which specifis the dedicated server tho play x map and x gametype.

No cost.

hey i was thinking about making this its own topic but when running a DS u still need to factor in the speed of your internet. So i guess there would be no point in making a DS when in a normal game only 3 other people can join.

Problem. When I click on the haloded shortcut it puts this up:
WARNING: sv_name unspecified in init.txt, defaulting to Halo

sv_maxplayers: 16
sv_public_value: 1
halo<

Now I don't know what to do. Could you guys help me out again?

Heyyo,

Oh wait, you wanna start a HaloPC or a HaloCE DS? The one I liked ya to was for HaloPC. For both HaloPC and CE they come packaged with a dedicated server, the one I liked ya to was if you diddn't want to install the full game and just the DS package.

An easy way to setup your DS is use init.txt builder found at this site: http://www.halomaps.co.uk

What the init.txt does is sets up your server's name, how many players, your map rotation, and a few other options. The init.txt builder does all the hard work for you, you just tell it what you want, and it sets it up. ;)
