Aw. Poor Old Newbie, got kicked off of servers because his 1337
|-|4xXx0r r0[k3|) 4 f3\/\/ +00 /\/\4/\/y 80xXx0r5?

Suck it down. Nobody gives a -blam!-.

1) You have said that Bungie already announced MP Co-op. Upon someone realising this error, you ignored it. Were you wrong? Or blind? Or maybe they did, but only to you, because you rock so much. That must be it, right?

2) MP is not boring yet. If you played 10 hours daily every day on HPC since it came out, and had endless LANfests with your friends beforehand, you would not be bored. Do not tell me you are - you must have a disorder causing a deficit in attention! The rest of us still enjoy Halo, thanks. Maybe, if you think H1 sucks so much, and want H2 to be a few new skins on Team Fortress, you should go talk to someone about making said skins, and host your own modded server. Don't cry to us, we like playing games that Bungie made.

3) On every point you say something like "Whose to say?" or "You can't tell me without a doubt what Bungie will or won't do." - Well, you seem to be stressing, without doubt, what.. hm.. what Bungie will or will not do! And you seem to think you are the authority on this subject! I'm all for speculation, but when people tell you that they don't like your crackpot theory on how Halo 2 will be Team Fortress: Copyright Infringement Evolved, you don't inform them that they're wrong, you come to terms with it, and rethink your ideas (because honestly dude, 'we'll selectively just throw in a few covies to play as'. Yeah. Like that wouldn't take hundreds of hours more of animation tweaks than our Bungists have already done.) or you ignore the person you see as an idiot.

I for one, will speculate upon things that aren't insane, or just pointless. Things like possible storyline twists are fun to think of, things like new handling, or map strategies make sense. Things like crazy new races in Multiplayer that have only been hinted at in a backwards way once if you look at 3 out of the 15 words said in an 'off-the-records' statement by a guy who says he once saw Bungie Studios? Now that's going a bit far - too far to get angry about and tell people that it is the likeliest scenario.

Just settle down, enjoy the flow of ideas, don't call other people closed-minded when you can't see through your own, and relax. Everything will be revealed to us in just a tad over 4 months. Until then, we should enjoy what we have and bask in the warm glowing warming glowing glow of television. Or H2 screens.

Have a merry wait, And watch that temper!

~Your Friendly Neighbourhood Halo Man.

Post Script: Oh, as an on-topic bit to the topic's originator:

It seems on slightly shaky ground. Sounds interesting, but like an awful lot of work for Bungie to do overall. I think what we should try to find is a collection of statements made by Bungie that either support, or deny this idea - because it could be a lot of fun, but balance would be so hard to achieve.

TeamFortress was -blam!-. It was made out of 86% -blam!-ness. "Look at me! I can kill a whole buch of people by standing in place and shooting becuase I'm the Heavy Weapons guy!" In Halo 2 it will be more Team-Oriented becuase the guy with the flag can't drive.

Jesus. How old are you? That's it for this debate. Clearly, you can't meet me at compatible intellectual level. Anyone that says "It was made out of 86% -blam!-ness." isn't worth the time it takes to even type this.

Why thank you. I have played TF and I hated it. My opinion.

Spartan Vs Elites would NEVER get old,. just like now, Spartans Vs. Spartans in H1's MP, i meen seriusoly, its been 3 yrs since halos release and its still the best MP game, thats through mostly lan and limited internet, the class based would be entirly -blam!-, i understand that Bungie didnt want H1's MP to be like it was but look how badass it is, they plan on keeping that way, just makin improvments...and the thing u said earlier old newbie, about one player on the team doin all the work..they guy b4 u, who you replied to was sayin that the MC is a spartan as well, in story..hes one of a kind, like no other..can use all weapons and blah blah blah...but MP its another story, its about skill, not who has the advantage, from class based gameplay, in ne given situation, as Ash put it very well, its all about skill and knowing the level and where weapons lay..skill man, skill

Finally someone who sees sense. Read carefully anyone who doesn't understand....

The winner of a game is decided by his skill and adaptation to any situation...

NOT his pre-given advantage in the situation...

Wow, didn't read all that, a little too sanctimonious for me. Firstly, TF isn't the only class based FPS. Secondly, I'm not saying it's definitely in, i'm saying it's a possibility. And I thought I read online coop somewhere, maybe I'm wrong, does it really matter? I for one am not interested in looking it up to settle an argument. Jesus, man take it easy, you're taking this far too personally.

TF was one of the most popular online games ever. It had a huge following and many people would love to see class based Halo. Halo MP does get old because there are very few maps (only a couple of which are any good) and the weapons aren't very well balanced. I played it for almost two years, it was great, but it's old now. You seem to think because you still have lan parties and are a superfan that your argument is more valid than mine. If it'll make you feel better, you're right and I'm wrong. How stupid of me, Viendin is all knowing.

Grow up and calm down, you sound like a complete loser.

CTF is a team game, A TEAM GAME. Maybe teamplay should come into the equation sometimes? Naw, that's silly. And besides, would it hurt you if there were both modes of play?

While I don't necessarily agree with the means at which Old Newbie's debate was met, I do however, agree that he's quite simply hoping for something that isn't what we've come to know and love as Halo .

I'm rather confused by your (Old Newbie) interest in Halo 2 when you can, without hesitation, state that Halo is 'old and boring.' You seem to be waiting for another Wolfenstien, which quite simply, isn't Halo. It seems to me your time and efforts would be better spent looking for a new class-based game rather than hoping for an established, team-based (yes, there is an extensive amount of teamwork involved in single-class FPS - arguably just as much as any class-based; it's simply a different brand) first person shooter to change its wonderful ways.

For the record, I sincerely hope that Bungie keeps Halo's multiplayer fundamentals intact. The addition of the Elite was genius, anything more is ... unsettling. But hell, I could always be wrong.

Pay attention to this kids, this is an intelligent responce. This board is awful, really. I think I'm about done. The average must be 12.

I think it'd be a fun alternative to have elites, brutes, hunters, grunts, jackels et al, agaisnt Spartans, ODSTs, Marines, etc. Not only that, but the vehicles too! It'd be intense. The number of situations and challenges would be nearly infinite. I don't hate Halo, love it actually, but the game is old, and I have played more than my share. I'm ready for something new. This isn't to say that i wouldn't play Spartan vs Elite, but as any online game has shown us, people get bored and invent new game types (MM3 had many, Splinter Cell has tag and deathmatch). People get tired of great games and want variety, that's all I'm looking for.

For the record, I didn't like RTCW at all, didn't even like TF as much as I may have represented. But the inclusion of Elites in MC is cosmetic, by all reports it feels indistinguishable from a Spartan. That's just a new skin and isn't all that great. At the end of the day, I don't understand why we don't want as many game play options as possible.

Was that in regards to my preceding post or your subsequent post?

It likely was - I made mine too long in an attempt to catch up with a pagefull of prior arguments. Congratulations are in order, p1acebo.

And, yeah, OldN, if you really don't want to read what I said (looks like you read some of it), then it can be summed up with "Their protests were as valid as your idea." That's all. I just had to say that with examples, etc... and counter your previous 4 posts at once.

The only reason they have elites now is so bungie can proceed with these "massive online battles with covenant vs. humans". Sure in the old single flag gametype it was merely cosmetic but you havent seen the rest of iceberg yet so you should wait until november to pass judgement on the usefulness of the elite skin.

I was referring to your post. It was a bit of a relief to read a post that didn't dispute my argument because it was "-blam!-", with poor grammar or ironic use of "leet" speak (it's really old and just isn't clever).

People always resist change, it's in our nature. How interesting would an RTS game be if all you had at your disposal were tanks? Or how about Diablo 2? Joining a party with different skill sets and abilities to beat an otherwise unbeatable foe was awesome (or any RPG for that matter--would playing as only elves make the game better?). The community resisted when this change was sent down, but after an adjustment, everyone saw that it worked and was fun. Previously, people set out on their own with their super characters and killed monsters and got items. The change forced people into parties and for the first time we saw different "builds" of characters and how skills, that were previously seen as useless, could be used in a clever and interesting manner.

I know these aren't FPS, but the point is still valid. Why do most people want an option to play as Rachel in Ninja Gaiden? Or the boss characters in fighters? Because it's cool, it's different and add variety to games.

In Halo 1, everyone who was any good carried the pistol. Everyone went for headshots. It was predictable and became uninteresting. That is the only was to be successful. I hope this isn't the case with H2, but the battle rifle seems poised to be the new pistol. Opening the game up to other classes with unique ways to deal down death can only help the game.

Players get accustomed to facing off against another spartan/elite, they know what to expect. But entering a room with a jackel standing in front of a hunter would require some skill and thought to defeat.

I'm not an advocate of only this kind of class based gametype, but anyone who thinks that Bungie couldn't make this an incredible experience probably would be happy with just a map pack for H1 or just more of H1.
