Well the brutes are much stronger, but they have less armor so they cant take as much damage

Hunters are weak, they're weakness is far too.. "exposed". So my guess is the Brutes will be a lot tougher, yes.

On the last couple pages of First Strike, a Prophet makes an aside that the Brute he is talking to could tear a Hunter limb from limb.

i dont know i have to dissagree with u people entirley if any of u have ever played on legendary the hunters are push overs let em charge move the hell out of the way and empty rounds into their backs. The eleites are much stronger and their fore i have no answer lol

"The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing." Albert Einstein
"You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty." Gandhi

I think the Hunters are physically stronger, but brutes (and elites) are better Warriors.

I reckon they are talking about physical strength, not fighting prowess...

Ya the hunters are a pushover, exspecially when you have that trusty pistol. However, if all you have at hand are human weapons those red elites are a pain!

IN H:FS, as someone said, Brutes can tear apart a hunter limb from limb. Also in FS, a brute took a full clip from an AR, barely flinching. A hunter, he's in a puddle of blood, with me poking it.

I would have to disagree with everyone on this post, as you can see in the video you can take one of those Brutes out with about 3 shots from the Battle Rifle as if you tried that on a Hunter you wouldn't be able to do that unless you got around them, which you can't do while sniping.

It's not that the Brutes are stronger but they are more diciplined. Remember the blind rages Hunters go into when one of them is killed? Thats the perfect example. Hunters also have peanut brains. Brutes on the other hand are the personal body guards the prophets. They must be smart and as strong as any other Infantrymen (or in this case Alien), it's kinda unfair to compare them to the one-shot-to-the-back (with Pistol) Hunters.

HERES SOMETHING TO THINK ON ABOUT BRUTES:

If you read First Strike, then you know about the fight John had with the Brute. You also knew exactly how much (and thats alot) it took to kill one of these Brutes.

HOWEVER....

In the E3 Demo, those Brutes went down like Grunts. They're supposed to be so tough and strong in the book, but the Chief easily kills one with three hits of his rifle, and 2 shots in the chest.

MORE EVIDENCE THE BOOKS DON'T FULLY CORRELATE WITH THE GAME

first, ever thought that E3 is a demo, i dont think the masterchief is supposed to die in it, it is just demonstrating new stuff and they are probably on easy. Remeber what it is like to take down a maroon elite on easy. Second, i agree with kesdawg69 that the Brutes and elites are better warriors. The brutes are faster than masterchief, so they must be faster than elites. Hunters sem to be bent on protection, cause they are always gaurding stuff. They arent front line material. Hunters are just ... evil for lack of better words.

The books do match the game. Listen and I'll explain.

In the book the cheif had on his old suit. In H2 he has on his new suit. If you remember a lot of his stregth comes from the suit and its enhancing technology. Thats why in the H2 E3 demo he was able to take the Brute out with a few hits. If you really want to get picky about it, he first shot the Brute, nothing happened, the Brute yelled, and then he whacked it, killing it.

The cheif's stregth has been increases with the new suit, therefore the Brute seem weaker than in the book.

In the Halo 2 E3 demo, those were incompleted AIs within' the Brutes. In fact, it is rumored that those are unfinished Grunt AIs.

Trust me, the Brutes will most likely be your worst nightmare in Halo 2. Who knows. I, myself, believe they'll be something you want to stay away from.

A note on the lack of correlation wik the books and the game: We have to remember that the E3 demo was just a DEMO. It was put on merely to parade around all the new graphics, features, etc. and NOT to be used as a final-game reference. It was probably on Easy, anyways. See how quick even the Grunts went down?

I personally think the Hunters will go down a lot harder when a round finally gets through their backs, but the Brutes will present a more intellectual and tactful challenge.

Definetley something to think about is their grenade-launcher-ish sidearms.

I already hate them. With a degree of respect.

First off the books go along with the game excatly. All of the info in the the books comes from Bungie. The reason the Brutes looked so weak in the E3 demo is because it was a DEMO! It wasn't the final game. It was meant to show of the new graphics and the new weapons. The Brutes "Toghness" was probably tuned down for the purposes of the demo. Trust me. When the final game ships the Brutes will be a lot tougher.

I think that it is true that it was a demo and that played into it but I also think that what I said is true also. The cheif has a new suit so he's stronger now.
