could the whole thing just be about the banhammer shishka is so happy about? Keep it clean, be a hero, report violators. Seems simple but it seems to fit.

is there a chance that this is another one of bungies marketing techniques? i was intrigued by the update so i went looking around and (unknown to me) bungie had arranged for someone else, or themselves, to assemble an Alternate reality game. both halo 2 and halo 3 had one called i love bees and iris respectively.

the thing about the arg for halo 3 was that there were a series of numbers were revealed in a halo 3 comic that were suspected to be an ip address, but failed to lead anywhere until a few days later.

these were the numbers:

206, 16, 223, and 65

the ip:

206.16.223.65

[ip leads here]

now being the suspicious person i am (like most of us here) i do believe si has been writing messages in his "KEEP IT CLEAN" posts, using numbers in place of one letter each time.

the numbers correspond as such:

KEEP IT CLEAN
0714 08 1030N

(there have been no posts by si indicating whether or not there is a number corresponding to the N.)

now im no computer whiz or such (and by all means, correct me if i am wrong) but given that there are the same amount of numbers in the keep it clean messages as the iris ip, is it possible that these numbers are an new ip for another bungie arg?

071.40.810.30 ?
or
071.40.810.30N ?

they lead nowhere now, but what about in the next coming days? weeks? months?

most likely the numbers mean something. but one thing bothers me, if this was another arg leading into some big news or such, why would bungie do basically the same thing they did for a previous arg? this is my main doubt that my theory is (and it probably is) incorrect. personally i would think bungie would think up something new rather than recycle it.

orrrr maybe they are pulling a trick on those conspiracy theorists like good ol ThugMoshGrind so people think they are going to do the same type of arg, when they actually do something entirely different.

im up for criticism good or bad, and would love to hear what you've got to say.
my "research" was done across the forums here and the halo 3 wikipedia page, most notably the marketing segment located [Here]

if anything, this post is to help all you others out there to think up more theories and such and hopefully light that match that sets fire to the shadowed powder keg that is the Super Intendent.

Ok so im not sure if anybody has mentioned this already, but i do not particularly want to go through 22 pages of post to check.

The phrase 'KEEP IT CLEAN' has been transferred one by one into the numbers '0714 1030N' (this can be seen by looking at the superintendents forums posts on its profile). This suggested that something was going to happen on the 14th of July 2008 at 10.30, which was when Microsoft's press conference started at E3. This seemed like the original plan because the Superintendents last post was on the 13th of July, one day before E3. But we all know that Bungie did not present anything at E3 so this 'SERVICES WILL RESUME' thing is possibly saying that work on a new game/project is continuing and more clues are likely to start appearing again.

The clues i spotted straight away when looking at the article was the the related news is from 1 and 2 years ago. The first is to do with the Halo 3 Beta back in the summer of 2007. This could possibly suggest that another Beta/test is on the way for a new project. The second is to do with some person who was sending emails to users from 'bungie.com' and is titled 'Security Alert'. I am not too sure what to make of this but maybe it means that something is about to take over; the Superintendent perhaps? A new game? From what i could see, there is nothing in the page source or hidden in the names of the .jpg files but i am not sure if Bungie do that kind of stuff anyways.

These are just my theories built up from what i have read on a few of the threads on the forums and this new article, you are obviously entitled to think whatever you want.

Im sorry to burst your bubble there thug but IP address numbers never exceed 255 so the '810' part is impossible. Nice theory though. Those numbers definitely correspond to something. Read my post a couple above this one and see what i have deciphered.

There is now a buzz within me, excitement withheld in hibernation.
Soon to burst out.

I wish I was still legendary.

thugmosh - those numbers were originally referring to te date of the microsoft press conference at e3, at 10:30. something was supposed to happen but they cancelled it.

Maybe I will never be
All the things that I wanna be
But now is not the time to cry
Now's the time to find out why
I think you're the same as me
We see things they'll never see
You and I are gonna live forever

What?
He is back?
What?

SI seems to me like a maintence computer in a city. All hell is breaking loose and its calling for help, maybe broken or corupted, it just seems like too much hype for a remake of headlong, but I wouldn't be disappointed if it was.

The numbers '0714 1030N' might hint at a date 1030N might mean that the new date for the event or announcement could also be on 10/30/08
