Red Herring=False lead or something like that

yay for scooby doo!

Great find on Google maps by the way. Except there is no coordinate for the E hemisphere that japan is in.

"Seems to me you should spend less time on that article and more time working on that novel you've been working on!!!"

So this probably has nothing to do with anything, but to throw it out there cuz I'm bored, anyone notice how the third to last update on the front page has the moon in it, and the update after that has the sun rising? Probably just coincidence. Or could it be "darkest before dawn"?

  • 09.21.2008 12:05 AM PDT

I dont really understand coordinates all that well, all i know is when i hit the big 'search' button with that typed in it points to a spot in japan :D

  • 09.21.2008 12:05 AM PDT

this sounds like the right idea maybe based on the books?

Someone earlier mentioned the only reference to Japan is because of the prowler class ship etc etc. I saw somewhere else that the letter to Keep it Clean when converted to numbers are actually coordinates for somewhere in japan. Ill find and edit this post with them in a sec... any thoughts?

Edit: Posted by user Sindre1 at the RvB blog comments:

"Keep it clean = 7141030n
7 14'10.30"N is in Japan.

Google Maps FTW. "

I would say coincidence... find it hard to believe even BUNGIE is THAT in depth, so to release tiny hints weeks in advance, that are only noticed after the fact. They are more of the style to tantalize, not wave things under peoples noses without them even noticing...

So now I'm a beta tester. Let's see where this goes.

Hmm.? The other two posts under related topics are in no way related except for the fact that frankie posted both of them. But hey sometimes I read too much into things.

Those coordinates point to Hokkaido a big island up the top of Japan. The Tokyo Games Show is held in Tokyo, which is right down the bottom of Japan. Look them up in wikipedia for the maps.

Yeah so I just think thats entirely coincidental, especially given that those so called coordinates where actually a date and time, relating to E3.

especially when SI posted 07141030N during the week of e3, it clearly related to july 14 at 10:30 am, i find it ridiculous that they would think that far ahead that if by the slightest chance, they called off the announcement, that it would easily fit it into TGS. I call it coincidence

You simply hit reply on that persons message, then in the next window, hit the quote button 1 time. Give it a tic, and it will show up. Then type underneath it. BAM, done.

u just type [quote] at the beginning, and then put [quote] at the end, only the second time you add a / just before the word quote the second time. that should work.

actually some people have guessed that frankie is the superintendent

  • 09.21.2008 12:12 AM PDT

Sounding more and more that way. I only bring it up because i thought it mightve been significant :D With all the talk about the TGS and the fact that these coordinates happen to land in japan of all places, was worth bringing to the table. I think we can write it off as a coincidence though, i wasnt aware of them earlier being used as a time and date.

Whoah sorry I got confused, those coordinates point to near Osaka which is still a very long way away from Tokyo.

Eh, as exciting as this all is, we'll probably just have to wait til monday, since they normally don't post things on weekends. However, many people, due to their daily lives and schedules, often look at sunday as the last day of their week, when in fact, the last day is saturday (duh). But considering this for most people, that makes sunday sort of like the seventh day, and seven is a special number here.... yeah, I'm goin to sleep now. waaaay to much thought in this now lol. G'night Bungie members.

Well, I will be checking back in later on in the morning sometime. Hopefully something gets leaked out, or somebody gets some of the pieces put together for this thing.

Oh, and while I am off, somebody send me a pm with how many post's it takes to become a Legendary Member. Or I guess, if not posts, what it does take. Thanks.
