Subject: Halo 2, HD, and Xbox 360 issues

Hey guys, I have a few questions.

I'm currently trying to play Halo 2 on my Xbox 360 Elite, on my HD-TV. My 360 is connected with HDMI cables, and for some reason it will not auto format to widescreen, but rather stretches out Halo 2 from what I can see.

Now, I know Halo 2 supports HD settings, which is why I'm a bit puzzled. I also know my 360 can autoformat games that support HD settings, like Ninja Gaiden Black.

Can anybody help me or point me in the right direction to not play this game stretched out? Thanks.

How about just setting your 360 to WS. I'm just guessing.

It is in widescreen, I'm hooked up with HDMI cables, and the resolution is 780i.

Load up a game and tell me if the Warthog's tire or the Zanzibar wheel looks squished. The HUD elements are supposed to be stretched due to a bug. Also try split screen and tell me if it's horizontal or vertical split.

Halo 2 only is in 480p. It just upscales to 720p. But make sure you have widescreen selected in the display settings since 720p is not a widescreen aspect ratio.
