anyone have any info if this is going to be possible?

like unreal championship.. your allowed to have, you (1) and 3 (at max) friends/guests all playing on 1 tv/xbox.

sorta like splitscreen halo or lan halo, 4v4 with 2 boxes or 8v8 with 4 boxes. (we all play halo over xbconnect and some times lan with 2 xboxes when we can get 8 people.)

this is the BIGGEST thing my brothers and friends are wondering about because we dont have 6 xboxes and 6 XBL accounts. (when we found out halo2 was going to be on xbl, the first thing everyone asked each other was 4 people per box?!? or ghost recon with only 1 person per box)

with all the nice graphics and great looking effects.. were scared that they wont be able to allow that much action going on just 1 box..

well, i hope ive explained myself well enough... so my questions are:

- does anyone know if this is or isNT going to be possible?
- is anyone else out there wondering the same thing?

any info would be greatly appreciated!

i dont think bungie has released any information about that but i am sure they will think about people who are in your position and bungie is know to please people so all we can do is hope and pray that things work out, until nov. 9th you wont know. but then again if they did make 1 account per xbox that would greatly increase the already unormous amount of cash they will have but i doubt it they are more about pleasing and make sure everyone is haveing fun and likes the game.

Sorry to bust your bubbles. But, I don't even think there is the slightest chance of that happening. If you had four players on one connection you would have terrible lag.

there is a slight chance of that happening but it will most likely be only one guest with you at a time.

What are you talking about? 4 split-screen is easier to handle than 4 on other accounts. Lag is caused by data transfer, and if 4 players are reduced to a single box, that means less transfer. The framerate may suffer a little due to the 4x polygons but I doubt it.

Guests don't cause lag...

Yes they do. It's more transfer in and out of your box. 4 people, 4 places, 4 times the transfer.

The other people would be happy, but unless you have a really good connection, you'll get lag.

Im wish you could do that sooo much!!! Although its much more likly you will ony be able to have 2 people on a single xbl account. If it does come to a point where you can have 4 people on 1 box on xbl I will probably buy this thing from madcat (Lets everyone talk, not just one person).

ive played on xbconnect, 4v4.. 2 boxes (and even 3 boxes.. the host split their box 2) and there wasnt much lag, any was bareable and didnt take away from the fun. (and you can do a 4 person per box thing already with unreal championship)

so i know it is possible to do and thats without optimized network code (unless the xbconnect guys did some amazing work with their software)

the lag im really worried about is graphical frames per second lag. with all the great graphics.. will they put 4 players on 1 box?

say they dont allow 4 players on 1 box to go online.. what about system linkplay? gonna have to bring double the boxes now.

i hope that if they allow 4 player system link.. theyll allow 4 player online.

someone from bungie say something!!!

edit; the reason i like this is because i hate having people watch when they could be playing right along side.. sure 2 player games are fun but what about the other guys just sitting waiting their turn?

its just like why we have online play in the first place.. more people = more fun! and more people there with you, next to you, makes it even greater.

sure the voice chat and all is cool but nothing beats playing agianst/with a person face to face.. the emotion of it all is great, plus we want to bring our system link game online and we need the entire 4 man team!!

you guys haven't considered that you'd need 3 more headsets.

but i dont *need* 3 more headsets.. sure it would be nice, but its not required.

ill have 1 guy talk and send info from the others.. ill most likely be teamed up with the guys on my box, so we can talk with each other ALONG with having the 1 guy talk/relay info.

xbl guy01: WARTHOG INCOMING TO BASE
friend at house: guys look out for a warthog incoming
friend 2: k, ill watch the base, you guys go out.
friend at house to xbl: ok we got a guy watching the base for that hog.
xbl guy01: hog down, its clear.. lets get their flag!
friend: hog down. cancel that but keep a look out
friend 3: roger.

along with that we could just talk to each other while the others go out and do their thing..

friend 3: ok, me and friend 2 will watch the flag.
friend 2: ok
friend 1 to xlb: ive got 2 guys watching the flag, lets get theirs.
xbl folks: ok, lets head around the right side up the blah and blahblahblah
friend 3: im watchin the back, you get the front
friend 2: ok cool, clear so far
xbl: GHOST INCOMING
friend 1: ghost incoming get ready!
friend 3: back clear
friend 2: front front!
friend 3: coming!!!
enemy has the flag
friend 2 died
friend 3 killed enemy02
flag returned
friend 1 to xbl: ghost down, flag returned
xbl guys: good job! im in their flag room, cover!

it might not be as cool as playing by yourself online with the headset to yourself.. but ill scarafice that to be able to play along side my friends with and agianst others. were our own squad within a bigger platoon.

then agian, having 4 people on 1 box being able to each other others screens is an advantage.

but then you could maybe think of this lack of communication to the others the downside to that?

No -blam!- dumbass. The point he was making is that those having them on your box causes less lag because its on ONE connection in ONE place...so the host doesn't have to talk to 4 xboxs from different corners of the country....just one connection.

And "unless you have a really good connection"....no -blam!- again. You can't pplay online without a broadband connection.

And Im sure this would cause MUCH less lag than 4 boxes...-blam!- if you don't believe us go to XBC and see people kicking singles and asking for groups of 4.

h2JIM-

I'm in the same situation you are. Two brothers and friends who all love Halo, but one Live account. I really, really, hope that Bungie will put up to 3 guests in Halo 2.

Headsets are not that expensive either. It took me about a week to save up for mine.

Also, if Halo 2 will let us change our names on Live, then we'd all have different identities, so Bungie wouldn't need to worry about everyone having their own identities.

I dont remember where but bungie said that all the popular features WILL return from halo to Halo 2. Like system link up to 4 players per box and coop. So Halo 2 will be just like halo 1 with better graphics and new features.
