they didn't get new armor. It said in FS that they just picked up a couple of upgrades back at Reach when they were with Halsey.

No one said that they get new armor in FS... atleast I didn't.

Good theories, but it was Linda (sniper spartan) who was damaged and frozen, Kelly was abducted by Dr. Halsey.

Grace died at the Hierophant.

Alright guys, I went back and edited the original post to say Linda instead of Kelly. I'm not sure how I missed that; nevertheless, thanks for correcting me:)

So where do you think Mendez went to train the new generation of Spartans? Earth? Reach again?
I dont remember that being mentioned in the book, but it would be nice to have some less fragile teammates. You cant even flip the hog without killing a dozen marines in Halo...

Can someone plz tell me what Section III is? ONI section three? What do they do/who is part of it?

ONI is like the CIA a hundred fold over. They know, see, and do everything. They're basically the intell of the UNSC:)

They never really describe the Flash Cloning also. The spartans have been cloned several times the MC at least 4. If they had the facilities they could respawn them all.

In First Strike, when Dr. Hasley discovers the S-III file, she describes the cloning process as a failure. The clones all died from some disease. Hasley never could, that I'm aware of, perfect the cloning process.

Oh yea, the reference to the E3 demonstation adds more fuel to my fire. They refer to the Spartan as A Spartan. As far as we, "the public," has been made aware of, there is only one specific Spartan in the game... Master Chief.

Of course he's refered to as a "Spartan". He's a -blam!- pawn in green armor. They don't know the men or women behind the armor. Only someone "close" to him, such as Dr. Halsey, would call him by his name. For all we know, those Marines may of had no idea what happened back on Reach, and the Marine in question has no idea that there's only one Spartan left. And I've never noticed any insignias on his armor that would suggest he's the "Master Chief".

I hope that John has some friends left in the sequel.

No Spartan has ever "died". It's propoganda. Any Spartan that does die is listed as MIA in case the file is ever leaked to the public.

Spartans are invincible as far as the rest of the UNSC is concerned. Plus, that marine may not have known about the fall of Reach. As far as he knows, all the Spartans still exist.

What she said..

This makes my point for me...

What doesn't make any sense (storyline wise) is that most all MP levels in Halo (1) are on Halo. MC is the only Spartan who made it to Halo. In Halo 2, there will be atleast 16 Sparatans in MP, we know from the books that there aren't 16 of the original Spartan-IIs left. If the campaign is to be related in any way to the MP, then there should be some explaination as to why there are other Spartans! Oh, give some other explanation besides the "there can't be 12 MC's running around in MP"... I'm not an idiot:)

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but you (Eagle) know how you asked Sketch if the render was from MP or Campaign? He never answered the question. If it was from MP, he would obviously say that it was because it wouldn't reveal anything new about Halo 2. And I don't think Sketch would lie and say that it was from MP when it is really from campaign. So this brings up the idea of the white Spartan is from campaign and they are some kind of secret Spartan.

Or it's just a render of a white Spartan holding two SMG's.

Yes the cloning process to copy spartans to have lets say ten johns failed. However, the flash cloning which is what i gather some form of transplant of brain to a newly grown body worked. I havent read first strike because my ignorant Barnes and nobles has a zillion copies of the flood yet no first strike. To lazy to yell at em.

 • 07.02.2004 1:32 PM PDT

ThermalZeal-

That sucks that you haven't been able to read First Strike. I won't give you specifics, I don't want to ruin it for you, but First Strike brings the issue of cloning up again.

Barns, we Halo fans will get you one day...( Holds fist in the air )

I've never heard anything about Halo 2 single player using a different graphics engine from Halo 2 multiplayer.

 • 07.02.2004 2:25 PM PDT

I'm not exactly sure how it works, but the graphics in MP are of less quality than Campaign mode. The graphics have to be sacrificed for frame rate issues... so many things going on at one time slow down the fram rate in MP.

man i dont think that ackerson made any new spartans because bungie dosent excpect everyone to read the books and halo 1 didnt even mention him so i think your probily wrong about that part but i think the spartans that are still alive may come in to play in halo 2...

Just becuase Bungie doesn't intend everyone to read the books doesn't meen there not part of the story. The Halo story is very rich and get in a vast amount of important material that will help people better understand the story. For example the first book Halo: The Fall Of Reach exapands upon the statments earlier in the game about Reach and how MC/SPARTANS came to be. In the second Halo: The Flood, many unaswered questions from the game are explained in detail (such as Ackerson), andf the thuird Halo: First Strike is a prequerl to the second game explainging how MC found Johnoson and other Marines and basdically sets up the storyline for the 2nd game. If you want to know more about Halo than read these books in that order.
