they did stuff like this on the eekly update before cold storage came out and this seems just like it. i'm sticking to the theory that it has to do with the mythic map packs.

we will all know on the 25th it's going to be better than december 25th

they did this on the weekly update before cold storage so it's got to be mythic related.

  • 09.23.2008 4:13 PM PDT

this has been discussed before, its not mythic related

Alright, everyone. I'm back. From what I'm seeing, Lancaster took what I said and brought it to the next level, and I completely agree with his theory.

Oh, and welcome back, man. You were missed. >.<

Now, I'm seriously convinced this all points to a story parallel to The Fall of Reach. There are just way too many similarities to ignore.

And to all you people who are talking about the Superintendent sticker on the bottom right of the Really Random Cam, that was literally over 100 pages ago when you combine this thread and the Keep It Clean one. No need to mention it again.

As I said earlier, Ombudsman is in Babylon 5. In Babylon 5, there were arbiters. I'd suggest looking for possible clues on Wikipedia about Babylon 5 and Ombudsman. I pretty much read the whole thing, and some of it can relate, but most of it means nothing.

I hope people will begin to read at least one page of this thread, considering every over-asked question is asked on almost every page. (And answered for that matter.) That way, we can all make progress instead of looping around, which has pretty much happened since I left. If someone asks a common question or points out something already known, then someone new sees it, thinks it is new information, and begins asking all about it. People start answering, more new people come in, thinking this is where we are in the search, then the loop officially begins until we reach that same point again.

Basically, please try to refrain from asking questions that have been asked way too much and do not state anything "new" unless you know it's new.

If we don't find a way out of this soon, I'm going to lose it. Lose it. It means go crazy.
Nuts. Insane. Bonzo. No longer in possession of one's faculties. Three fries short of a Happy Meal. WACKO!
:-)

I'm sure in the 48 pages before me, someone has mentioned this, but I am not going to read all those. here is my random guess. S1 types, could be Spartan 1s. Maybe a prequel to Halo. Guess we will all find out before week's end.

  • 09.23.2008 4:57 PM PDT

wow

i think that may have been stated on the very first page

edit: nope! it was the second page. my bad

The Ombudsman sign was up in the RRC just before the failed E3 announcement also. It was there for a few days, along with some "teaser" items, they changed almost every day, if not every couple of hours. I'm curious to see what Mr Hand has in store for us now

No comment. Please read at least one page, like I just said in that big post which you cannot possibly miss. That one page will probably tell you everything you need to know.

you can go high, you can go low, you can go far and wide, but no matter where you go... you cantdenyme!

In reference to [DARE.V.500341(S1)]...

DARE is an acronym for "Discrete Algebraic Riccati Equation".

http://www.mathworks.com/access/helpdesk/help/toolbox/control /index.html?/access/helpdesk/help/toolbox/control/ref/dare.ht ml&http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Algebraic_Riccati_equatio n

It is used some how to calulate time in a "loop"... like predicting SUNSETS and SUNRISES and HORIZONS.

So maybe, the DARE function can be used in conjunction with the rest of the name V.500341(S1)?

DARE is also an acronym for the following...

Drug Abuse Resistance Education
Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effectiveness (Cochrane Library)
Dictionary of American Regional English
Digital Academic Repositories (Dutch academic research website)
Department of Agricultural Research and Education (India)
Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics
Defence Avionics Research Establishment (India)
Data Retrieval System (for Social and Human Sciences)
Data Archival and Retrieval Enhancement
Discrete Algebraic Riccati Equation
Directed Aerial Robot Explorer (NASA)
Derbyshire Association of Residential Education
Domain Analysis for Early Reuse and Evolution
Drug Awareness Rehabilitation Education
Denuder Atmospheric Research Experiment
Documentation Automatic Retrieval Equipment

Just some thoughts, sorry if this has already been posted.

DARE is not something I'm educated on for this matter. D= I hope someone else can fill him in. I'm pretty sure it's just part of the protocol, but that's my thought on it, considering it's merely a name.

  • 09.23.2008 5:18 PM PDT

yeah thats good stuff cantdenyme! thanks for pulling all that up... but yeah im stumped as to DARE as a halo reference, especially to describe an individual's position within some branch of the military

And there you have it, Bungie is making a game teaching all its young fans about how to resist drug abuse. The main character is going to be a fuzzy kitten.

Just kidding man, good work, I dont know if "Discrete Algebraic Riccati Equation" is anything or not but its interesting.

I think the next post he'll make is going to be Friday.

1. Weekly Update.

2. There is a four day difference from this post, and the last one.

It could have been a four day delay because of the weekend. For all we know, they may do it every weekday until the weekly update comes out.

**Edit -- Just so you know, it was three days.

Oh my G... I hate it when people like you come into here, claim to have an idea, then don't state it. You're just trying to stir things up. We are all sharing what we know to make it a group effort. If you wish to keep your information to yourself, then leave this thread, now. If you wish to share, I would recommend you do so immediately, or else I can guarantee someone will flame you. Now, we surely don't want that..
