Bungie is big on patterns, traditions, and 7's...
There have been a gaggle of books released from the Halo universe... but so far, with three great opportunities, there has been only 1 pair of book and game. The Flood was the exact path you play in Halo:CE. It was a really cool idea, but it came out years after the game. What I'm saying is that I don't really see Bungie putting out a game of any kind after a book has been written.
Please don't get me wrong though, ever since I picked up The Fall of Reach I have dreamt of playing it in a video game layout. Everything from being left in the woods at 7 years old, to the asteroid insurgency/extraction, to Sigma Octanus IV, to the Battle of Reach...
I'm simply saying that it is not like them at all to make a move like the one being speculated now, oh how I wish I am wrong however.
Yeah, but the books have come out more rapidly than the games, so Bungie may not have had the time to be so quick about it.
And yeah, the story pretty much cuts off. It bothers me, too.
