halo deserve a realistic look, a gritty look, something anime like...complete with gore and horrible images of a future war...

but wat really makes a comic, is the villains...everybody loves a great villain...i mean, the greatest heros of all time all had a memorable villain, perhaps even more meremable...anyways, just dont make it kiddie, or candy coated. i dispise that. lol

I think so long as its cool it doesn't matter who or what makes it.

I'd have to say a good comic is all in the writing. If you look at the really good writers (my favourites would be Garth Ennis and Brian Michael Bendis) their understanding of how comics actually work means that their work is fantastic no matter who draws it. There are plenty of good artists around (Glenn Fabry in your poll recently illustrated a Garth Ennis run on Authority) - but newcomers can be all the more exciting given the right material.
From the point of view of content - it might be worth having a look at what Games Workshop/Black Library did with their properties. They made a very 'British' style mothly comic (several different strips per issue all written from different perspectives of the Warhammer world). But the strips collect up nicely into trade paperbacks (Bloodquest is rather jolly). The monthly comic also has behind the scenes stuff, guest art, backstory and insight into the Warhammer mythos.
A Halo comic with some of that sort of behaviour would be very special indeed...

just a lil note here before I say anythin...
"I think a title with the word Infinite or Infinity would be best... You could have the figure-eight symbol of infinity interlaced with the Halo logo, somehow... That'd be neat, don't you think?"
Thats treading dangerous ground! You'd push most marathon fans over the edge... see the "I'm willing to bet good money" post and you'll see... We need to keep some fragment of sainty with us...

I am an anime fan, and not in much with the comic industry so I picked masamune, but I have another idea...
Not that he's a comic artist or anythin I'd suggest trying to bring in Craig Mullins... ever since all the original marathon pictures he did I've been a huge fan of his. he gives his art the realism which several ppl have called for in this thread... just look at RN54's avatar and you'll see what I mean. but actually gettin him to do it would be a different thing :P
But I'm entitled to dream

Why not your art style, mehve? Your art work is easily better than any of those bums! (yeah Im going for a major ass-kiss, but...who cares?)

A Halo comic sounds cool though....and your artwork really does kick -blam!-ing ass, mehve. Ive got the poster of the OXM cover you did on my wall. Keep up the good work

There are a lot of good manga artists out there, I cant even begin to name them all. Stan Lee is really really good, but there are others.

Anime sucks. Sorry Mehve, your MC artwork is super-great, but I honestly, truly, and with all my soul hate anime.

I like the painted, gritty , realistic look for a halo comic. I'd like darkhorse or image to handle it's production. The team on astro city would be a dream team.

My favorite thing about comics is the artwork. All I have is -blam!-ing mspaint. I just made one a few days ago. The pic takes awhile. the website is www.freewebs.com/pbcomics Just posted the pic yesterday. (man I wish I could enhance it)

woops. By the way, PBC stands for paintball comics. Go check em' out.

Stuntmutt's comics rock! I don't want to make any halo comics though, other wise I'll be like the other million wanna be's. I'll save that for the pros. Until then, I'm drawing on MS paint. I drew this one pic of a futuristically armored guy with some gun I made. MS paint does show devotion. I just wish I had those programs that some people have. Like flash! Boy would I love to make a movie with my drawings!

I have to agree with Stosh and MasterChief420 on this on, mehve style would be most appropriate because it is a very good (in my opinion) style, that is also unique, so while reading the comic you wouldn't think "Hmm...that looks like <comic artist>'s work." I must also say, as stated above by at least one person, the writing is probably the most important part of the comic. With good writing, the least that is required for the comic to be enjoyable is artwork in which the story is layed out in the correct reading order. Good or excellent artwork merely makes it better. At least that is what I think.
