The only reason you ass kissers are flaming the people that are having problems with the update is either a: you're kissing ass because you think someday you'll have recon, or b: it hasn't effected you yet.

It's you people who need to shut the -blam!- up and let us get our word out about our problems. How the hell would you like it if you had a major problem with something you loved, and everyone just told you to -blam!- off?

Seriously. This update is -blam!- up, and you people that are telling others that we are "whining" or "don't appreciate the game" are even more -blam!- up. Go jump off a bridge.

Okay... right.

We can have this cleared up: If I wanted to kiss ass (and I'm not much of an ass guy anyway), I would do so on a forum topic mods are actually likely to look at. Yes, the update has affected me: while some elements of it don't make a difference for me, others I plainly dislike, and yet I don't roam here complaining with the hopes of having it changed back, as I am well aware that not everything suits everyone, and that it is simply impossible to satisfy everyone in every aspect, every single time.

People don't explain their major problems: they repeatedly complain about the same elements they dislike. Here's an answer to your questions: no, it's not going to revert back to what it was, however, further updates will keep trying to fix bugs, please be patient.

I thought I was clear in my previous post, but I don't care if you don't appreciate the game or not. I do care that you are spamming complaints on a main forum topic. This prevents people who were actually looking for insight about the update, or had questions, to be able to find their answers in a navigable thread.

I'm sorry that you can't see that and give me a more reflected or less hateful response.
Obviously you must be right, I must be "blammed!" up, and will proceed to consider jumping off a bridge.

I'm not going to bother reading this because I know what it says.

"Blah blah I'm a little cry baby who can't take an insult or deal with someones opinion." -blam!- you, I'm done here.

The vidoc achievments will most likely give some reward that IS NOT recon, because in the past, recon has been nearly impossible to achieve and it was something given to a specific user, and with these achievments, it would be way too easy to obtain recon.
I may be wrong, and I honestly could be, I'm just going with the obvious.
Also, someone said on a different forum about the same topic that they were gonna quit Halo because they didn't want to pay for the legendary maps, and go buy CoD4 instead. Riiight.
So you're going to quit Halo because you have to spend a couple bucks on it and are going to pay $60 instead? That's smart.

"You are my new best friend. I totally agree with you. Bungie basically made another way for noobs to think they are good. I mean come on, social generals without the need for 50s? Can us good gamers get something for being good that these noobs can't easily get playing social all day?

Individiual playlist ratings are pointless. The BR spread in Halo 3 is a joke, the reload glitch gets me killed more than the other team, and the other problems with Halo 3 should be a bigger priority than new achievements and other completely pointless additions.

On the plus side they can now detect cheaters better so that is good. Unfortunately its the ony good thing about this update.

To Bungie, if you are going to improve the game try improving the game instead of catering to noobs. Oh and bring back the Halo 2 BR. That weapon actually worked."

Agreed. Glad someone here has an once of common sense.

So, with the soon to be released Mythic Maps: Assembly, Cidatel, Heretic, Longshore, and Orbital, when will the Legendary Maps become free?

BTW, when do we get to see snapshots of the Mythic Maps?

Kisses

s3x on the flag

I'm not sure why, but I find the graphic associated with this story (the one with the falling medals and achievements pts) to be really awesomez. My kudos to the art department.

Is anyone else having trouble getting the update to install?

Wow, awesome comeback, congrats.

For the guy who asked, it would make sense that the Legendary map pack be made free when Mythic become available. Sept 25th seems likely since it's H3's birthday and Bungie hinted at something happening on that date a couple times.

And here's a thought - if people don't like the update, don't like the achievements and think Halo 3 is horribly broken - stop playing it...
What if it's only two of the said three? What then? It's not broken, thus Lukems has explained it was all intentional (From the BR to the Beatdown). Halo is more than achievements, or that's how I use to think of it. Might I be wrong?

Don't get me wrong, I like the new update, and us gamers (noobs, and skilled alike) are lucky that bugie is still updating halo 3, however can someone please explain to me the potential benefits/advantages to decoupling the Symbol ranking from the True Skill level. I am not exactly sure what great benefits it has, or for that matter why they thought that this idea was good enough to be a part of the update. Just wanting to hear what people think, also congrats to bungie and the update its great.

  • 09.23.2008 11:23 AM PDT

sigh* I was hoping they would change the BR spread. But the rest of the patch seems like something new and enjoyable.

Halo is more than achievments definitely, it's a way to interact with millions of different people, a way to show your video gaming skill, and much more. Honestly though, if you can't see that goodness in Halo and are going to cry over this TU2 update, you honestly need to take a break or stop playing Halo altogether, because-
1.Bungie is godly and thus the update is(in the end this update WILL be beneficial).
2.Umm, if you don't like any video game, what's the point of blaming the people who make it? Just put that game on the shelf and play a different one, I mean seriously.

I guess it's all about who has the higher gamerscore.

Because your gamescore makes you good, right?

This is a joke.

My biggest problem with the update is that it doesn't address the real problems with Halo 3 that we all face aside from better detecting cheaters. These problems make some of us not want to play Halo 3 as much. Adding new achievements and playlist ratings won't bring people back.

It is good that the update can better detect cheaters. I think that is important. But the other problems are not being addressed and things are being added to the game that is pretty much pointless.

I'll continue to support the Halo franchise but that doesn't mean I have to be happen when things like this happen. Heck I'd be happy with the Halo 2 BR and nothing else. Or at least let me reload the weapon without having to do so again 2 or 3 times because of that reload glitch.

KEEP IT CLEAN!
PARDON OUR DUST
Bungie clearly told us that it will take the system some time to find proper host for lag free gaming and in a few weeks the system will smooth its self out. People REMAIN CALM.

New maps is a plus and detecting cheaters is a plus, more acheivments not needed but is ok. The EXP is a bit sloppy, Your total exp is not reset so when you get more exp from each playlist It will just look like a S*** load of exp in your total. Thats messed up. But change is good. New maps should of come out at the same time... But good update anyways

Nobody has answered this question yet, is it possible that it really has no benefits?

Let's not forget to mention the fact that some players can run around, tap their standby button on their modem, kill everyone and rinse and repeat.

What's being done about it? Nothing. I send reports on these people all the time and yet I still see them online.

The BR simply does not shoot straight.

The AR is too strong. Seriously, what skill does it take to blindly run at someone holding down R then mashing B?

The lag has gotten out of hand.

Maps aren't/take forever to load on matchmaking. (I have a perfect disk)

The melee system is -blam!- up. Whoever has the best connection wins.

Somehow kids have managed an aimbot and godmode hack.

What's being done about this?

Seriously.

-blam!-s and modders run free, while the good players of the game who work hard for their prestige, and actually value the game rather than notice what you have once it's gone.

To me, the Halo 3 I once knew is gone. Now this crap, where a noob can get General by playing BTB all day, is something different.

I wish this update was optional.

Subject: Halo 3 TU2 and the affect on unlocking the Security Helmet and Kata...

Hi I have one question about all of these new achievements. I have looked everywhere and to the best of my knowledge nothing has been brought up about this. So before the TU2 update for halo 3 when you got 49/49 achievements and 1000 GS you unlocked the security helmet and the Katana, but with these new achievements how does this affect unlocking these goodies? Is it still possible to unlock them or are we out of luck? Or do we need to get the 49/49 plus all the new ones? If you could address this concern in the next weekly update I'm sure myself and others of the community would be very thankful.

Thanks Bungie,
Tony Civ
