Alright, I'm like, tired of people going, "Hey, Sergeant Johnson died in halo! Whys he in New Mobasa?" Well, the answer to that question goes WAAAAAAAAAAAY back.

Sergeant /Avery/ Johnson took part in the Siege of Paris IV, and he captured a crate of plasma grenades, and it seemed that he contracted the Boren's Syndrome from using so many grenades which basically means that his neural electric pathways are screwed up, Sergeant Johnson refused treatment for his condition.

Private Jenkin's helmet recording disk showed that Sergeant Johnson's squad was overwhelmed by the flood, but because the flood infection forms were unable to match his neural pathways, therfore the flood passed by, and the only signs of flood DNA are dead flood strains which give Sergeant Johnson a degree of regenerative abilities.

That Halo Legendary Movie was just an easter egg/joke reward. What really happened was that Sergeant Johnson, and a few other survivors (I'm just guessing from stuff I remember from the book: Corporal Locklear, Polaski, and Lt. Haverson [the dude from ONI]) Made it out of Halo on a Pelican dropship, which is why, Sergeant Johnson made his cameo in the Halo 2 E32k3 Demo Trailer in New Mombasa.

NOW HOPEFULLY, I don't have to see anyMORE "Sergeant Johnson" threads.

You guys waste energy posting these threads. Because, unless this thread gets stickied, new comers in a couple of days won't see it.

After you beat the game, Cortana starts talking (I'm not talking about when you beat it on Legendary and get the Easter Egg) you can hear Cortana say that everyone died. I think that's why everyone thinks Sargeant Johnson is dead. Anyway, Cortana was probably wrong and we'll find out how he escaped on November 9, when we all beat the game.

Big C, we already knew how he escaped. if you don't, read First Strike

Not to be mean, but isn't this kind of like Kazaa. Shouldn't we just tell people who are confussed to just buy the $6 book instead of giving away all this info for free. Ahhh, what the Hell... this is the internet, right?

It doesn't really reveal "First Strike's" storyline though, and that was basically the "main meat" of the book.

  • 07.01.2004 1:45 PM PDT

You are right, it doesn't reveal to much of the First Strike stroyline. However, I personaly believe that this little bit of info will have a huge effect on the Halo 2 storyline... just my thoughts though:)

How would this affect Halo 2's storyline? Basically all I'm explaining why that Legendary movie is just a joke, infact, Sergeant Johnson despite being badass at Paris IV and just being a bad to the bone in general, decides to stay in the Pelican in New Mombasa. (Probably just so homocidal players dont immediatly shoot him which would cause even more confusion)

yeah, in the game she says that all there is left is "dust and echos", but then in one of the books(cant remember exactly wich one), she figures out that those "echos" are actually distant radio transmissions from the survivors.

grr.

1. she was being sympathetic, meaning that it was just echos of their lost crewmen's thoughts.
2.though what you said is true, why not say anything else and leave it to all the non-readers to find out for themselves just what happened by reading the books.

or, you could leave them wondering, and get them to spend money on the books, getting more money for the authors and, possibly, bungie.

In my opinion First Stike is the worst of the three Halo books. The Fall of Reach was easily the best. Sergant Jounson is almost more badass then master chief, because he was shot by the covenant sereval times, consumed by the flood, caught in an expolison of 100 million degrees and made it all the way back to Earth without a ship and in time to fight the Covenant.

Of couse the wondering of how he lived was ruined by First Stike.

I'd have to disagree, I like First Strike equally as well as Fall of Reach. It's The Flood that's horrible, Dietz couldnt write his way out of a children's book. Anyways, First Strike was very different because (most) of it takes place in space on ships, not on ground with infantry, so it's very different from FoR or a typical Halo experience.

You think this will stop all of the Sgt. Johnson topics? Man you really haven't been around here that much now have you? Some will see this and stil ask. Others won't see and they will ask. This thread may have just stopped two people and that is it.
