Well those that fire in space can easilly have a small speck of oxygen inside them, which is more than enough to force a bullet out. Heck during the bullet's manufacturing process oxygen would manage to get into the shell itself. Thus you have oxygen for the gun to shoot.

But my goodness people read what I said earlier about an invasion. It would make sense if you looked at it, read it twice, and actually thought about it.

Well maybe we will be killing them with a knife or the energy sword.

u cant use the energy sword because the energy sword is made of super hot particles held together by a gravity mechinism so the heat form the sword would blow up the whole goddam planet

YOU ARE STUPID !!! THATS NOT HOW IT WORKS !!! If that was so then no one could ever enter or exit the atmosphere

No planet has an atmosphere of 100% one element, there is always a mix

Frankly, I don't think any of us really know about what we are talking about to make these remarks.

Your right. Even if you could make a fire and the methane blew up who said the planet would explode? The atmosphere would just light on fire than when most of the methane is gone, or not enough to sustain a fire. Than you could come out. If they had bunkers or something they could survive.

Ok, proof that the gunt homeworld does not have an explosive atmosphere (in simple terms):

A grunt is walking along.

He trips.

When he falls he sends a rock scuttling along the grunt planet.

The rock hits another rock, makes a tiny spark, and

FOOM!!!

The entire planet is obliterated in a ball of fire.

Now, if that was possible, grunts wouldn't exist, it's just to likely that friction would start a spark and destroy the planet.

BUT GRUNTS DO EXIST, so the planet is not explosive.

Do you guys understand what I am saying?

I'm ALSO sure, that you guys are thinking too hard about this, It isn't real life, all they will do, is have you go to the planet, and they'll come up with some lame-ass excuse for it not to blow up. Trust me, they aren't giong to make you think hard in order to understand how you are on the planet.

Have you played Marathon? In Marathon there are vacuum levels where you are only allowed to use certain guns, because most of the human guns won't work in a vacuum. You also have to keep refilling your oxygen tank. Bungie has used this once before they may use it once again. Bungie will not make a lame excuse, they love creating the small details for how things work in their games.

you can breath in methan gas because when ever you fart that is a form of methan and we can breath that in. the only difference is that other methan doesnt stick. so if humans can breath methan than grunts will likely be able to live with out there mask on all the time

The only reason why we can breathe methane on Earth is because the majority of the atmopshere is not methane, it is Oxygen and Nitrogen. Pretty much a mix of what we can breathe. A little methane won't hurt us, but the levels we are talking can be deadly.

To all who says that the guns won't work without oxygen:
I'm pretty sure that the manual says that most human weapons use compressed gas as propellant instead of gunpowder.

They use gunpowder. Otherwise I can almost guarantee they'd sound different.
