I know that they will eventually release Halo 2 on PC, but does anyone know when? Will it be near the xbox release? I know its not clear on the halo 2 release at all. But i was wondering how much longer after the xbox release would the PC release be.

At least 1 to 2 years after Halo 2 for xbox so Microsoft can make their $$. Cause right now Microsoft is snaking us out of a Halo PC patch that is basically completed just wont be released yet. But as I see it I would pray for Halo 2 for PC cause it looks uncertain.

Chances are, Halo 2 won't come for the PC until atleast a year after the XBox Halo 2 comes out. After all, Halo 2 for XBox is going to be selling for a good length of time, so they are going to want to make as much bling-bling off it as possible before releasing it for another platform.

I was just looking around this site for information on Halo 2 PC and in the Frequently Asked Questions area it says that it is only being released on Xbox for the time being, or somthing along those lines, so don't rule out the possibility. Also I disagree that it will sell for a long time. Halo is probably the most popular game on Xbox, so it should sell rather quickly if its released close to Christmas, so I woulf think maybe a year after Xbox release, not two.

But remember how long it took Gearbox to port Halo? Halo 2 will have to be ported to, so I say it'll be a while after the xbox version....if it comes at all.

If it ever comes out for PC it will eat up alot!!!!!! of space on any PC. Remember the drive is designed for xbox. Soit will take a while if it comes to PC at all at all. Which is why i will buy an xbox!

I sure hope Gearbox Software don't recode Halo 2 for the PC. Just look at the mess they made with Halo PC. One of the worst set of programmers I must say, because, things don't work properly. An example, is that the end of Halo, when MC is chased by the Flood and runs up into the Longsword, there is no clanging or noise from the Longsword. And when MC sits down and powers it up, no button noise is head or engines starting up until like 5 seconds later, than you hear him running up into the cockpit, activating the engines e.t.c.
Another failure was music doesn't play at the right time. The end cutscene has 2 tracks playing at the same time! When it should only be one!
The sounds, timing for sounds, and what sounds are played are completley messed up. Another example is when MC gets into the Escape pod at the end of the first mission, and the music starts playing 5-10 seconds late!
So, Gearbox better not recode any more great games and make them rubbish.

Yea, the PC version is kind of glichy. I expected better framerate. But hey, its better than spending about $180 for an X-Box and another $50 for a game. I already have a PS2. I do hope they make Halo 2 for PC. Until then, we should just enjoy what we got right now and not worry about Halo 2 untill it comes out.

I'd like to share my point of view of Halo 2 (PC) for all those who says It'll be the best game of the year. It all depends on the developer, look at Gearbox. They've totaly screwed some bits of Halo up. I say Bungie should port the game themself or find some kick ass developer that managed to port a console game propely.

Take a look at DMA and Rocketstar's serie, GTA. They've realy managde to maintain the "feeling" from the originals. "Go them". :)

For those that are bashing Gearbox, do your homework. While I agree that there are still a couple of glitches with Halo PC, they are due to the fact that what Gearbox has done is ahead of the industry. Virtually no other game has yet to use Pixel Shader 2.0 or server side netcode. The next patch will definately address the FPS issue with using PS 2.0. The netcode will have to elvove over time, getting a little better with each patch. This is the price to pay for not having to worry about cheating. I personally would rather have the game be client side with PB built in, but that does not mean that GB "ruined" the game, as is evident by the 2-3 thousand people playing each night.

Now about Halo 2 PC, I wouldn't excpect it any sooner than a year.

Well, hopefully, they'll keep downloadable content on the Xbox version coming, (Although they were dragging thier feet about that too) becuase as so, history repeats itself. Halo PC was released with content that Xbox owners still have to drool over, cause most of thier PC's are trash and cannot support the game, espeacially in the multiplayer modes. I mean, if bungie would have waited to make the GOTY edition of HALO until halo PC was released, matched the multipayer content with that of Halo PC, and made it LIVE compadible, which would have. by the way, taken less time, since they already had the game code for the PC version, they could have released that game to market and made a KILLING on $$. I mean, just thing of all the loyal HALO players and newbs who would have gotten in on that, plus it would have further hyped Halo 2! So I don't think it's about the money, I mean, that's just silly. I do, however, think that the reason that they would maybe not make a Halo 2 for PC would because of what happened last time. Xbox gamers were left unfairly on the loop without the awesome content. They threw a major coniption fit, and it almost became a sense where the two games competed with each other, leaving some gamers with superior content, and others unfairly and completey left out. I think that's what they're trying to aviod.

You can get a good used xbox for less than $100... if you look around. And is there not a combo pack out now in the US? $160 for an Xbox with HALO... I read that someplace.

Also, I have played PC games for 10 years, maybe more if you count "Oregon Trail", and I just don't feel as strongly about HALO PC. I only have it because HALO has no live options... and I get a LOT of Lagggggg when I am on a job in Japan (6 months avg.) and use XBC.

I that Halo 2 will come out on PC, i just was sure when. I read a Q&A by several staff member from Gearbox, saying that Halo 2 was goign to be programmed easier to be transfered from consol (Xbox) to PC, thus saving the company time and money. I could try to find where i read that, but I'm to lazy right now.

you huys really had better hope for halo 2 on pc because it looks like it wont come out, reasons being, halo 1 only came out because its architecture was made with pc technology and for the pc, halo 2 however is completely new buikt from the ground up for the xbox. also the pc version of halo only had one advantage and that was the fact it had internet play, now that there is xbox live there are no reasons for someone to buy that version over the xbox version. also think how good your pc had to be to play halo 1, it was ridiculous you need top of the range graphics card with loads of ram, very few people ever got it running nearly as well as the xbox version. and lastly most people who have a pc have an xbox so there is very little demand for halo 2 on the pc. you guys try and think up some advantages of it being put on pc that the xbox doesnt have...

Basically, all you have to do is buy an Xbox...with Xbox live youll be able to play online matches anyways with better graphics and performance(Unless you have some custom supercomputer).

The only one I can think of, and reason Halo 1 came out, is because of Bill Gates, and his love of money.
