Why do people need to screen watch? The best thing to do would be to set it up so that screen-watching is impossible. For example, play 16 player LAN across 2 rooms, one room with 2 'boxes and another with the same, or if you can't do that then simply turn two tvs away from the other two tvs, so you CAN'T screen-watch, and thats all you need to do, well thats what I do anyway.

yes it is, because it tskes all the fun of mutilating your friends and leaving the to drown in their own pool of blood while you are ripping them into blood pieces.

I have to say that screen watching is cheating, because bungie didn't give you a little screen in the corner of your screen for a reason. However, I must admit that I myself have a problem with screen watching. I find it extremely easy to watch my guy while looking out of the corner of my eye at my opponent's screen, and it's not like I'm a n00b or anything, b/c i could beat the people i play w/o screen watching, it's just a really bad habit.

pros don't have to look at the other persons screen and in my experience only noobies do it because they can't use the red arrows/motion tracker. if a "pro" watches your screen, chances are, they're not a pro. only my noobie friends screen watch in my experience. it is much more efficient to use the games hints on where the enemy is and to focus on your screen than to look back and forth between screens. this probably doesn't apply on games with less people. i'm reffering to 6+. and if you can't find a sniper by following the smoke lines it leaves then you are a noob. so i guess its ok to "cheat" to even the odds

not cheating. everyone i play with screen watches, that's why we use 2 different rooms (2 different floors in fact so we can't hear each other either). Are you going to say screen listening is cheating too? "hey man, your'e cheating, you heard me pick up the invisi!" i've tried to not screen watch and it's impossible. if someone is screen watching just do it back, if you are a better player it's more advantageous to you anyway.

Like I said on page7 --Screen watching just makes you suck. You lose all real skill...

Screenwatchers are the kind of guys that think they are good, then are shocked when they can't play for crap in a real tournament -- You lose your edge when you screenwatch. You lose real skill - It's not about "rookies"or "whiners" because personally I don't care, I'll own you if you do or not... You'll just see the shot coming a few milliseconds before you die....

It isn't. Get this straight fellas: If someone tilts their head when playing, that's cheating. But if they're staring straight ahead, never move their head, but survive from you, it's called peripherial vision. I have it and use it. People think I'm cheating, but I can see around me. It's great for the long run (ie driving, able to see around you). So, yes and no, screen looking is cheating. That's my 2 dollars and 50 cents!

One thing me and my friends do is put a piece of cardboard down the middle of the screen. People sit on there sides. Only works for team games.

I'm about to do that as well. My bro got a box of paintballs with dividers, and I'm going to make them big to fit my screen. Comes in four sections, and I can take stuff off or add stuff on. It's going to be tight. Only fits 19" to 22" screens though.

Here is how I see it.
Yes:
-If you are playing on the same TV and it is large enough to where you CAN help your eyes "wandering."
-LAN games on seperate TVs.
No:
-Small TVs where you really can't help it if you see something that gives you advantage.

SCREEN WATCHING IS NOT CHEATING!!! YOU CAN'T HELP IT IF YOUR PLAYING ON THE SAME SCREEN!

one of my friends says it is cheating, but we always tell him to shut the hell up. Sure it's not realistic, but it's not cheating because it gives you no advantage whatsoever. Maybe it's easier to dodge sniper shots, but it never usually works and while you were looking in someones screen someone can get you from behind with a pistol whip. and besides, you have to admit, even if you think it is cheating, you've all done it at least once.

AND WHAT DO YOU THINK THE POINT OF FLASHING YOUR SCREEN IS WHEN YOU GET AN OVERSHIELD OR CAMO??!?!?!?!

sorry, I have to calm down a bit now...

SCREEN WATCHING IS CHEATING!

Here's how it works: People who screen look are just LOSERS who are losing their patience because they're too lazy to second guess their opponent by themselves. If you're whacked in the back, who cares? You don't need to screen look just to get revenge.
My friend can't STOP screen looking, so I gave him a little challenge. We put a HUGE cardboard in the middle of the screen, splitting it so P1 and P3 VS P2 and P4. And EVERY-SINGLE-GAME that we played with that board inbetween us, his team lost, no matter what. Scores like 50-22, or 25-6. When the board wasnt there, he was rackin up maybe 20 kills in a row. scores being like 10-50 and 3-25. I dunno about you but i call that a BIG difference.
If you're gonna play Halo, at least get some skill, DIRTBAGS

You can both look at each others screens so it really doesnt matter, nobody has the advantage, its all about whos the better player, not if your eyes are really shifty, just kill them first is all.

Okay, if someone relys on screen watching to win, then they suck for sure. But when you can win either way and the opponents on the same screen have the same chance to screenwatch as you... IT IS NOT CHEATING!!!!!
We're not talking about the little punk that relys on screen watching, but rather, we are talking about the all-around player who can kick butt in every situation. When all players (on the same screen obviously) are using the screen to react to the other players, then it is a different style of play and shouldn't be considered cheating. If you fall victim to it all the time, then be skilled enough to combat it. Just because someone is using a tactic to gain an advantage over the player and the other player just whines about it and doesn't adapt to his opponent's style, then the whining victim is not a skilled player who can win under any circumstance. The victim is just a whiner who thinks he is noble for not screen watching.

I know so many players who can screenwatch and win and then turn around and win a fifty player LAN tournament (I can too on occasion). If they can do both, then they are just a better all-around player than those that they play against. DON'T CALL THEM CHEATERS!!!!!!!!

Yeah, it's cheating.

You can't prevent them from doing it.

Punch them you might say?

What if you can't tell, you will be killed remember that.

I just link up with two X-Box's so I don't usually have the problem.

Screen watching is definatly cheating. If you get n00b morons whod o taht then it takes away most of your skill, I myself try to sneak up and beat people in the back and I can't do that if morons are looking at my screen, sniping is also a lot harder and almost pointless.

The most annoying thing for me is when your sniper is aimed at the back of a friends head only to have them jump out of the way cas they saw themselves on your screen.. it has to stop!
So, sad is it may sound, on most split screen games we Blutac a piece of paper in the middle of the TV... its a lot more fun allowing u to sneak up too. It also means more communication on co-operative games. Try it out!
