I give but a taste... of Madness...
I too recall of a time when the kids at my school would come up to each other and say "comE ovR 2 Mah house so we can has play James Bond!" or "dis one gaem i gots dis wekend". But around the beginning of my awkward middle school 6th grade year, a magnificent revelation occurred. A new game had recently been released for the new Xbox and it was called Halo, I too thought wth? is this like that Messiah game in which you play as an angel or something? no, instead i was exposed to a FPS like none other i had played before. It was tactical, smooth, and had excellent gameplay. I soon followed up on this new series after the second one came out, and it enticed me to buy an xbox just to play. With the release of the 3rd installment, I knew that I would spend most what free time i had in my nerd cave... ( I soon found out I had more free time than i thought...) I closely watched the development of the game after its release and I found myself in Shock and Awe at the massive community and amount of supporters of this wondrous game.
There are times in which people have been appreciative, and times in which we have been frustrated, but has Bungie not always come through for us? Part of the reason we follow the development of updates is because of the vague descriptions that we are given (this is in response to all those who are angry about KEEP IT CLEAN). It is somewhat like a story in which this is only the beginning chapter, in a book that never ends, where every page is better than the last.
In sum, I had one of the most memorable years of my life one full of new friends, new rivals, new ways to get to that little spot on The Pit, new ways to geomerge a Double box into the Foundry walls, and new ways to have fun. Thank you Bungie, thank you microsoft, thank you loving (and some not so loving) as well supportive players of the Halo Community!
Let's have another good year :D
