Subject: Adware- Gamespy Arcade

Mcafee, my virus protection, is saying that the gamespy that is used for the halo pc multiplayer says that it is a potentially unwanted program, it states that it could be adware?

It states that Adware-Gamespy-Arcade is adware, should I remove it? or is it safe and its just protecting me and I can click trust without worrying about it???

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

It's adware, but then again so is Xfire.

You don't actually need the gamespy client to play halo. Halo's got its own built in client which goes through the gamespy servers. It's only the gamespy client that throws ads at you.

From what I know, it won't negatively affect your PC. But you don't need it for Halo, and I think it's faster not to use it anyways.

I always choose to avoid installing Gamespy Arcade whenever I install Halo 1 PC.

It's just more proprietary clutter that I don't need.
