Recently I started a post in the X Box forums called the Halo 2 pledge. I pledged to beat Halo 2 on legendary (Or what ever hardest dificulty avaialbe) in one nigh. The post got many responses. Mostly people don't like the idea and think it's stupid. Also the say the game has over 30 hours single player so one night would be impossible. I think my point has been misunderstood. Halo 1 was such an experience that I couldn't stop playing it the first night. Since Halo 2 is dreamed up to be so much more than Halo 1 I can't see how I would treat it with less importance. We've all been waiting for years for Halo 2 and that's not something you can say about many video games. After all that Halo fans have endured I don't see how anyone would want to do anything elese when Halo 2 comes out. I still pledge to play through Halo 2 on legendary in one night or however many nights it takes as proof of my resolve. I think you (any one) should play through it however gives you the best experience. I am in no way trying to put down others, all I want to know is...

Who's with me?

Don't pay attention to the rude... welcome to the Bungie forums:)

As for your post, I plan on taking breaks from playing Halo 2. Like you said, we've waited years for this game... I don't want to get through it in 2 straight days of playing. I want the experience to last as long as possible:)

No, there are just inconsiderate people in every forum. If you want the Halo 2 experience to last, why not just beat it more than once and play multiplayer constantly. Halo: CE has been out for nearly 3 years now, and yet its experience is still lasting through multiplayer, glitches and easter eggs. Not to mention the books and this web-site. Halo 2's lifeline is not just gameplay, as I have found with the books. Although that is a huge portion of it.

MP isn't were the meat of the game is at, if you ask me. Unlike the campaign mode, which only relies on you ( the player ) and Bungie ( the maker ), MP relies on you, I, Bungie, and the thousands of incompitant kids on XBL that will try to screw it up for us real fans. I want the storyline of the game to last as long as possible... like French chocolate. Sure, there will be B.net and MP to hold me over, but neither of them will fill the void of a great storyline:)

You can always try reading the books as I said before. Anyone who has read the books, especially Fall of Reach, will tell you it fueled their passion for Halo.

Yes, I've read all the books, articles, and interviews many, many times. They only add to the void of not having Halo 2 in my hands. Not that I don't enjoy the books quite alot. They are some of the best science fiction novels around right now. Nothing, for me atleast, is going to give me the satisfaction of playing campaign mode in Halo 2.

Well, there are a few unmentionables that will satisfy me quite a bit...

And yeah, Opey could probably win that game without using his BR. Best SMG user in Halo.

Man, I'm with you. But I have to say, I'll probably beat Halo 2 on Legendary before any of you. Now before any of you start saying you can beat me, here's the reasons why I will do it first.

1: I'm going to camp outside of Gamestop the week before Halo 2 comes out (maybe even the month before).

2: I've beaten Halo on Legendary so many times it's not even a challenge anymore.

3: I can take on four really good people all at once (system link at a friend's house)

4: My quickest time for beating Halo 1 is: about 8 hrs. around there.

First of all I know when stacked against you four players isn't that hard because you can rank up kills four at a time while they only get one kill at a time. Second game stop is a good way to go some times they get games early. For soul calibur 2 they sent a guy from my game stop to pick up the package. My friend works at game stop and if they let us pick up the package we'll break evey law we have to get Halo 2 early.
