I guess i'm in the same boat as 100,000 other people....I didnt even know what i was doing was wrong by trying to get the achievements in social. It was totally stupid that they put them in social. This ban is bull crap.

How's the mythic medal boosting, achievement boosting, kill boosting, exp boosting.

Sit back in that corner please.

You must feel pretty -blam!- cool putting all these people in their place. Maybe you should sit the -blam!- down because nobody wants to hear you. You're not connected with bungie, let them talk.

The last time Bungie responded on this thread was months ago. What were you posting for? You did something wrong deal with it.

Join the club of people whom dont like being put in their boosted place.
You got yourself into the mess, so stop being ignorant.

I'd happily let shishka or another employee, but i'm not suprised if they dont have their hand's full with the new maps/boosters/glitches/problems.

I don't know if i was banned. Not once have i gotten a message saying i was but i can not acces any user created conted (i.e. Custom maps, theater mode, ect.). I know i had modified content in my files a very long time ago but they have never been in my fielshare and have long since been deleted. I was just wondering if this was why i was banned from user created content

  • 04.10.2009 7:51 PM PDT

I didnt no it was cheating I thought i found something cool and easier to do if you didn't want people getting them that way why are you even able to. I got in trouble for something i didn't even know was wrong. This changed my hole opinon on Bungie now. I paid for the game I should be aloud to get them how ever i want. The only thing I don't understand is why do I get in trouble for doing something I didn't know was wrong and I'm able to do?????Can someone help me out here???????????????????????????

Again people, ignorance is not an excuse. You can't tell a police officer, "I didn't know the speed limit was 35," and expect to get off. Being uninformed about what is bannable is not going to get you off. You may have paid for the game but you also agreed to a CoC and a ToS which says you cannot cheat. If it looks like you were boosting, you were boosting and should expect proper action

Sorry, but that is just an invalid comparison. You mean to tell me that for every video game you get you go on the creators website constantly to read up on the laest rules and happenings? Even if you don't do that, do you honestly read the rules and terms of service for everything? Not everybody who plays halo is a hardcore halo/bungie fan., and driving is a COMPLETELY different situation.

No, it isn't invalid. It's spot on. You are correct about one thing. Most of us don't read the rules. But, most of us have an idea what's in in them. And, we also accept any consequences when we break rules we didn't know about, because it's our responsibility to know. They are available.

Your "friends" will get banned eventually, yourself getting banned first, just mean's you've done most boosting then your "friends".

And compairing a real life problem/situation towards the situation in a game, is thinking along the same logic.

You're wrong. My friends and i did equal achievement getting and I was the only to getr banned. They did not get banned "eventually".

I would like to appeal for a ban I recieved last night.

I was with a few friends last night, and we were doing Matchmaking. One of the players in our game (under the name of Breadmonster67) invited us to join his game and get some achievements. He asked everyone to bring a guest. I asked if this was okay to do, and he replied "yes", so I spawned up a guest and we got achievements.

After we did that, we went into Grif Ball, and Breadmonster decided to Exp Boost, and he wanted everyone in the game to join him. He was the only person in the game that boosted, while the others (including myself) continued to play Grif Ball. He started to even our scores to result in a tie game. I tried to interfere with what he was doing, but I couldn't. After he scored, he said that he would stop. However, he decided to do it again and again constantly in the game, until it ended with a tie game.

I told him that EXP Boosting would get him banned, and my friends and I left the game shortly after. I booted up my 360 today, and I was given a two week EXP Ban. I don't think it's fair, because I was actually trying to STOP him from Boosting, along with my friends (who I assume also got EXP Banned), yet we all recieved the punishment.

I NOW know that fixing Achievements could result in a ban, but when we did it, I was unaware, and Breadmonster said that it was fine to do. I always get my Achievements the fair way, and I had no idea that you could be punished for fixing them. So I ask, is there any possible way you could reduce my punishment, or take away the EXP I got from Breadmonster's game? I assure you that it will never happen again. I leave it to you, the people of Bungie, to decide what'll happen to my account.

Sincerely,
Retrobit

No, just no, ignorance is not an excuse for prior actions. On top of "acheivement boosting," you actively were apart of somebody EXP boosting. As soon as this Breadmonster guy suggested even the achievement boosting you should have said no and left. For somebody who always gets achievements the "fair way" it seems obvious that you would assume getting them in an unfair manner wasn't the right thing to do. On top of that you participated in an EXP boosting game. Whether you actually tried to stop it is irrelevant. As you have stated he (Breadmonster) told you he wanted to EXP boost you should have just said no and left. Your ban will not be reduced.

Sorry guy but the 2 week ban probably won't be lifted. It hasn't been lifted for anyone else who has asked. You can still play the game so just consider the 2 weeks without gaining EXP as a warning and just don't do it again.

How is it invalid and completely different? In both instances there are rules and in both instances the offender presented is unaware of the rules as well as possibly the consequences. Both, also, don't assume that if you don't know the rules you have free reign to do what you want. Its just not how it works.

To answer your questions no I don't go on the website of everygame I play and no I don't read every ToS that I agree (probably not a great idea). However, I can logically infer what is proper in a given situation and if I happen to break the rules I don't know about I certainly won't whine about not knowing them being grounds for the punishment to be lifted. It is completely fair.

Do you have to take a permit test, practice for many, many hours, and take a license test for halo 3? No. I compare this more to a tail light being out in your car. You don't know it's out, but the officer will come up and tell you to get it fixed, no penalty at all.

You have to go through comparable contract agreements. BTW it is not entirely necessary to have to take a permit test and practice, that is just the usual informed route. Your analogy is the invalid one. One don't assume the officer lets you off with a warning and two technically the fallacy you supposed on my given example is the same downfall to your own.

Anyways, lets go over this slower. Ok lets assume the licensed driver in this example is the equivalent to the licensed gamer (Yes, if you are on Xbox live you are licensed to use the service). You have agreed to certain rules whether you know them or not. If you break these rules you have to face the consequences whether or not you are actually aware of them. So, if the police catches you speeding and you didn't know the speedlimit you are going to be given a ticket (taking away the possibility of officer discretion). Likewise, if Bungie catches you cheating in their game they ban you. Both whether or not you are aware of the rules.

I know that in most, if not all states, you MUST take a permit test and then wait 6 months to take your license test(if under 18). Either way, your pretty much just bsing now.The cop will NO give you a ticket for having a tailight out because there is no way to know besides being told.
