- If you're cheating to get Achievements, you're still cheating. The banhammer is aimed at the behavior, not the intent. "I was just trying to get Yorick" won't get you out of the EXP ban.

i dont care what my rank is which means i dont care that i was banned... twice. what i dont get is why they would ban people for achievement boosting. (this all happened during halo3) also i heard that they no longer ban people for achievement boosting in reach.

Just got credit banned for 2 weeks

I experienced a ban last night on earning credits. It said the ban was temporary, but either way I've never engaged in any unsportsmanlike conduct, and i've never manipulated my network in any way.

I've sent 2 e-mails to bungie regarding this, and even being a microsoft employee, have gotten no clarification on this issue.

I am not happy with the credit ban, even if it is only 24 hours. It's not merited, and I want answers.

Thanks in advance,

Rebecca

I really don't know if I'm banned. But I haven't receive any Exp since I got the ODST. I thought maybe it had something to do with the maps, that I didn't purchase them online while playing with the Halo 3 disk.
Is there a way to fix it? or to check if I am banned? The sad part is that in Social Skirmish my exp dropped to 0 and I'm always playing with new guys that quit every single match.

Any information is welcomed.

Hi webmaster

I know you get lots of requests. I hope you can get to this one. My son (Demitrius Kalergis aka Toastmanburns) has been teaching me to play Halo Reach 3. I'm not very good and so when I play as his guest I never (3 days of playing) get more than one or two kills. I do move around the battlefield constantly, not very well, but I'm just learning. Since he started teaching me, he has been banned from accumulating credits. I suspect it is some computer generated thing based on my poor playing.

I spend a lot of money on all this stuff. :) You are in effect, depriving my son of the use of the points I spend a lot of money for. I don't think my son (or anyone) should be penalized because they have a guest who plays actively, but is just lousy at it. LOL

From other posts, this seems to be a glitch in the system. I understand why you must have measures to protect the integrity of the game for everyone, but this needs some tuning up. IMHO

I see many other similar complaints on line. Is something being done about this? What can we do differently? Maybe there should be a training module that a new player must pass before actively participating in games.

Thanks for any help or insight your might have on this.

Cordially,

George Kalergis

"George",

This may come off as harsh, but if you want advice then here it is. Your son didn't get banned for you playing with him and was 99.9% for sure banned for a legitimate reason. The banning system is excellent and I do not know of a single case where it banned someone improperly. Now that we've gotten that out of the way, let's move on.

First things first. I can't find your son (Toastmanburns) or his service record on here. That makes it hard to see if he did anything obvious wrong while playing the game that may have caused the ban.

Without getting into a huge, long explanation for which I am not getting paid for (so I'm not going to do), you're wasting your time posting here and you're not going to get this ban overturned. If you really want to push the envelope, you can find a moderator (search the site or old posts, I'm not doing your work for you) and message them. Please know that if your son was in fact banned for a correct reason, the length of his ban will be increased as a penalty for wasting someone's time. Please also know that Bungie is on vacation still (I believe) so I would not expect immediate attention.

Nothing is being done about this. When you play with your son, if you're learning the game then do not play on Live. Just play local while disconnected from live and you can learn like that. Once you have the basics down, then go online. If you would like a training module, then play campaign by yourself first on Easy difficulty, then on Normal difficulty, then on Heroic difficulty, and then finally on Legendary difficulty. Once you have finished this (or "passed" this), then you may play online with other players and you should do well. There is no training module that will make you a good player in 30 minutes.

Finally, your son is not entitled to any points or anything else for that matter. Here, you have no rights. If you do not like something that happens in this game, you are more than welcome to put down the controller and walk away forever. I personally plan on sticking around as I find the rules to be very fair. I play the game because I enjoy playing the game. I do not play the game for imaginary credits or ranks.

Hope all this helps.

MJCUGS07

You're an idiot.

The banhammer bases it's bannings PURELY over kills.

Bad guests CAN get people banned.

If you don't believe this, you're more deluded than I thought.

UN BAN ME BUNGIE

zT Gaming Since 2003.

your not a bungie employee, so don't act like you have the authority and knoweledge to administer / lift bans. your being disrespectful and unfair to this man and his son. if someone who is not very good at the game, wants to play, they are allowed to play on matchmaking. speaking of people having no rights, well you don't have a right to say what people should and shouldn't do. your a random, your not a bungie employee, stop dickriding kid. i hate kids like you who suck up to bungie just because you want to stay on there good side. it seems to me that this gamertag was banned form earning cR for no reason, i could be incorrect but that is not for me, or you to say. you don't know the situation and as you said, you were unable to locate the stats so you do not know if the ban was correctly administered or not. do yourself a favor, keep playing the game, stay out of the forums and stop trying to act like you work for bungie. your just a random rent-a-cop who sucks up to admins because they have power. if i could use swear words on here i would be using alot. just go play xbox and get off the forums, you don't know what your talking about, you don't work / never have worked for bungie or microsoft, your not a moderator, and you don't have to try to enforce the "Code of Conduct" onto other players. just leave these people alone random , if all you came to do was tell people on this thread that they got banned for a legitimite reason then why would this thread exist in the first place. my friend has been baanned from gaining cR for LITREALLY no reason, and i was at his house, he wasnt boosting, he didnt even have a second controller signed in, the fact of the matter is that the banhammer does ban people for no reason, it can happen and it has, so don't talk like you know, ok random? im done.

zT Gaming Since 2003.

This is my last response to MJCUGS07, the randy internet cop who likes to tell everyone how it is;)

No one has ever been banned for legitimately playing the game as it was meant to be played.

yes, yes they have, i have, people i know have and clearly quite a few people on this forum have. i got banned from gaining credits for "two weeks" while playing team snipers, and then about 3 hours later the ban was lifted. i didnt do anything violating the code of conduct at all in snipers, or any gametype on reach for that matter, yet i still got banned for a few hours, and then my ban was lifted, oh about 13 and a half days early, which proves that the banhammer is banning people incorrectly.

When you play with your son, if you're learning the game then do not play on Live. Just play local while disconnected from live and you can learn like that. Once you have the basics down, then go online.

no, that's stupid and unfair, if someone is not skilled at the game, they are still 110% allowed to play, there is not rules anywhere at all that state "if a player only gets a few kills every game and does bad, he/she should play offline until he/she improves" thats just unfair and stupid. if someone isnt good at the game, they have the same rights to play it as anyone else. all of your arguements are single sided and rude. please just go play halo reach and stay off the forums, stop trying to poice them ,especially when your not even an honorable member (meaning you haven't even been on xbox live for 1 year, ive been here for almost 3).

War.
War never changes.

Didn't you hear?

Everyone in this thread was innocently banned.
[Never being banned myself, I'm proud to play the game as it's meant to be played.]

Shiska, I know this isn't related to EXP banned, but I think my file sharing banning was unjustified. Yes, I do admit I had modded content on it. But, during the time it was on my file share, I played halo 2 nonstop. When I finally quit Halo 2 and went back to Halo 3 it was perm banned. It's been almost a year and half if not two years. I think I have learned my lessen. If you could please see if you can or can't do anything about it, please reply back. Thank you.

I got exp banned, and I honestly don't know why...My wife and Dad play as my guests quite frequently, and I always massacre them, so I don't know why the credit ban would be popping up now. If I have done anything wrong, I'll accept full responsibility for my actions, but as far as I know my games have all been legit.
