On second thought, there was a firefight game my wife was AFK on because she had to take care of the kid....but seriously, one game? Would that be enough for the ban?

In memory of those fallen in the defense of Earth and her colonies.

I loved the complaining threads.

No company that uses terms like, head-to-head, man-on-man, action-sack, and mancannon is homophobic.
I supposed that teabagging is.... what, a representation of a new form of colonoscopy?

You were boosting with idle guests. There are more examples, I'm just too lazy to link them all.

"No, I will not eat cat poop!"

I love Raisons. I wouldn't give a raison either to ban you.

Halo is like rock paper scissors, but with military explosions and aliens

Why has a 3 year old thread been revived?

Sorry file share ban's can not be lifted. No exceptions...
Posted by: ZeldaFan49
Shiska, I know this isn't related to EXP banned, but I think my file sharing banning was unjustified. Yes, I do admit I had modded content on it. But, during the time it was on my file share, I played halo 2 nonstop. When I finally quit Halo 2 and went back to Halo 3 it was perm banned. It's been almost a year and half if not two years. I think I have learned my lessen. If you could please see if you can or can't do anything about it, please reply back. Thank you.

And please explain to me who you are. I asked Shiska, not some halo community member. But nice try though. :)

The Flood is...BEHIND YOU!
Swedish, Norwegian, Icelandic

Why is boosting even a bannable offense? You still play the game, there are no hacks or mods involved, and full lobbies never make anyone have no fun or harm anyone or anything (Full-Party boosting was stated to not even be bannable). By banning the boosters who do nothing wrong in reality, you cost yourself hundreds of players who tell their friends not to buy your games at the same time they trade in Halo themselves. Banning people causes more trouble than having boosters in reality. Why is it that I get banned for boosting twice when I've never done so before then and that none of the other participants got banned? I was not the only one engaging in the act and I shouldn't be considered the only guilty party as such. Why is the system flawed in such a way that it bans the first person it sees and moves on to leave the others in the lobby untouched?

Just because you can spam a dmr does not make you pro.

Okay so i was doing some achievement boosting and the the ban hammer banned me , my brother, and my console for thinking we were exp boosting when i was not boosting for exp.
I have not violated any of the terms of use by boosting for achievements and i understand you stated that it is cheating but it was not listed in the terms of use and therefore i have been mislead. I would like it if you would unban me, my brother, and my console as i was not boosting for exp.
Thank you

Also if it is an exp ban why is it given towards achievements?

Scense this thread is most likely dead i am just going to have to wait it out.

  • 04.02.2011 11:18 AM PDT

same thing happened to me except it wasn't my fault my friend was playing my xbox and skrewed around enough to get me banned if something like this happened to you then we should get our bans lifted

  • 04.02.2011 11:41 PM PDT

and it didnt say how long the ban was for it just said temporary

  • 04.02.2011 11:42 PM PDT

I got banned for no reason. I didn't have modded or hacked anything. All I did was talk trash back to some kid calling me a "try hard". Anyone care to explain?

I was addicted to Halo CE and Halo 2 for a long time. I went through a RECOVERY and stopped playing. I then went through a RELAPSE and was hooked once again. I stopped playing since Halo:Reach did not live up to be greater than Halo 3, but now I have gone through a RE-UP and again I game on Reach. Like this? Demand an ENCORE.
:O

@SKOUTERZZ
You booster. I checked your "Recent Games". That's just sad.

(lol) ok i have been playing for 2-3 months now and i just found bungie.net and about the "unspoken" rules for the cr bans but i just started playing alot more the past 2 weeks or so and i was halfway thru with the 24 daliy challenges in one week, weekly challeng when i was ban first i was fine with it after i asked around and founb thayt it was only for a day so i finished up the weekly challenge out of pride cause i sure as heck dident earn anything lol but when it endend started on the Long night of solace LASO weekly with 3 friends on of the guys was simi afk cause he was the leader and we all thought if he died it was mission restart but anyway shortly after we made it onto the corvette i got banned again (i assume) but now it is for a really long time i think? . . . take a look at my history and let me know if i am in the wrong on anything other than my challenge addiction (lol) let me know and also if u can tell me how long i am ban for now (its been two days) i would be greatful and even when i was banned i still played ( loves me some forge now ;p ) and if u do find something banworthy in my history just let me know and when/if my ban ends i will do my best to play right lol well thanks for the time and ear it is great to have a place i can finaly get answers from profesinals. "Drastic measures will be taken."

Nover Grover,

I'm very open and honest with the fact that I'm not paid, have no authority, do not work for Bungie, never have worked for Bungie, and pretty much just comment here for the heck of it and because it's entertaining/interesting. Anyone that gets confused by this should probably have their Internet usage rights revoked.

I have every right in the world to say what I want and make suggestions. I'm giving opinions, not handing down rulings that people are legally obliged to follow. No one has to listen to me. I also do all this knowing full well that if I am out of line there are people that will let me know and take appropriate action against me. As for you, think whatever you like to make you feel better about yourself, it really matters 0% to me what you think, feel, do, etc, etc.

And yes, we all know that everyone is experience/credit banned for absolutely no reason at all when they do nothing wrong. The banning system has never, ever, banned one person legitimately. Also, the Sun really revolves around the Earth, dinosaurs are not extinct, and I'm typing all of this on a magical typewriter that can fly.

Also, if you get upset what people write, stop reading. My posts are open for anyone to criticize or correct or whatever else they'd like to do to them. You act like I do this because I want to join Bungie so I can work on the next Halo game with them. News flash: Bungie is done with Halo beyond supporting this game.

How shocking that your friend was banned for LITERALLY no reason at all. You know, a similar situation happened to me the other day. I was playing the game legitimately, doing nothing wrong, and I wasn't banned. The crazy thing is, it's been like that for the entire time that I've been playing Halo games (9 years). What's the difference between me not getting banned (ever) and your friend who was banned? Well, I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that he really was doing something wrong, whereas I don't do anything wrong because I just play the game.

Thank you for your opinions, random, hope to hear from you soon.

Your hero,
Cugs

You're an idiot.

The banhammer bases it's bannings PURELY over kills.

Bad guests CAN get people banned.

If you don't believe this, you're more deluded than I thought.

Wakkydude,

Thanks for your opinion, I feel the exact same way about a lot of people.

The Banhammer is automated now, so it is possible for it to make mistakes. There was a time when this was not the case and bans were manually done.

When people are banned because of guests in game, 99.9% of the time they are banned because a real, live person was not sitting at the controller. It wasn't their wife, or their kid, or their dog, or whatever else they said it was.

What? How do I know this? Look, how many thousands of people play Halo games every day and have guests? (A lot.) Now, out of all those people, how many are banned and come on here to complain or bring it to Bungie's attention? (Not many.) Bungie would not have a system that bans thousands of people every day for no reason at all. This would (1) make people angry, and (2) cause them a lot of work in terms of manual labor to investigate and overturn said bans. It makes no sense for them to maintain the Banhammer if it was an inaccurate piece of garbage that just gives them more and more work...but it's still here after all this time. Looks like Bungie is pretty happy with it, so that means all of us have to deal with it.
