"Drastic measures will be taken."

This is my last response to MJCUGS07, the randy internet cop who likes to tell everyone how it is;)

No one has ever been banned for legitimately playing the game as it was meant to be played.

yes, yes they have, i have, people i know have and clearly quite a few people on this forum have. i got banned from gaining credits for "two weeks" while playing team snipers, and then about 3 hours later the ban was lifted. i didnt do anything violating the code of conduct at all in snipers, or any gametype on reach for that matter, yet i still got banned for a few hours, and then my ban was lifted, oh about 13 and a half days early, which proves that the banhammer is banning people incorrectly.

When you play with your son, if you're learning the game then do not play on Live. Just play local while disconnected from live and you can learn like that. Once you have the basics down, then go online.

no, that's stupid and unfair, if someone is not skilled at the game, they are still 110% allowed to play, there is not rules anywhere at all that state "if a player only gets a few kills every game and does bad, he/she should play offline until he/she improves" thats just unfair and stupid. if someone isnt good at the game, they have the same rights to play it as anyone else. all of your arguements are single sided and rude. please just go play halo reach and stay off the forums, stop trying to poice them ,especially when your not even an honorable member (meaning you haven't even been on xbox live for 1 year, ive been here for almost 3).

Nover Elmo,

(1) Being unbanned early proves nothing. All it proves is that someone decided to lift your ban. It could be because someone was feeling nice, or someone made a mistake, or they decided to unban all the people that whine the most. The funny thing is, you complain about me because I gave my opinion about something and told everyone that it's an opinion. Meanwhile, you turn around and give your opinion on something when you have no facts and proclaim it to everyone as true. The door swings both ways, hypocrite.

(2) Nowhere in the rules does it say "if a player only gets a few kills every game and does bad, he/she should play offline until he/she improves", you are right about that one. However, nowhere in the rules does it say that Bungie won't ban you because they feel you're trying to cheat. By signing up for online play, you gave Bungie the authority to ban you.

(3) Everyone has the right to play the game, no one has the right to cheat. If the banhammer is SO inaccurate and bans people all the time for not cheating, how come I have never experienced this glitch and been banned for no reason? How come not one person I know that plays Halo has ever experienced this glitch and been banned for no reason? How come the forums don't have thousands of posts every day from the armies of people that have been wrongfully banned? Maybe this is because the vast majority of people don't cheat, and the few ones that do are the ones on the forums whining about how they have been wrongfully banned.

(4) If you don't like my posts, you can stay off the forums. I have no sympathy for anyone that has ever been banned because I don't enjoy loading up firefight or matchmaking and playing with someone that stands still almost the entire time. It's cute how they'll pick up the controller for a little bit and get a few kills so it looks like they're just "bad" at the game and not actually cheating. It's even cuter how they think that actually works.

(5) How am I policing the forums when I have no authority to do anything? If commenting on things that people post is policing, then no, I won't stop. Also, under that definition, you should stop policing the forums also.

(6) Being an honorable member means nothing. Congratulations, you entered in a username and password before I did. The world is a better place.

You should probably explain some of the reasons for being banned such as network manipulation, credit farming, etc.

Haha raison, so legit.

Yes. I am a Battle Rifle machine. The DMR is a poor replacement.

I wish there were more than a select handful of people that complain about actually being banned unfairly, not being banned "just because."

Shiska, I know this isn't related to EXP banned, but I think my file sharing banning was unjustified. Yes, I do admit I had modded content on it. But, during the time it was on my file share, I played halo 2 nonstop. When I finally quit Halo 2 and went back to Halo 3 it was perm banned. It's been almost a year and half if not two years. I think I have learned my lessen. If you could please see if you can or can't do anything about it, please reply back. Thank you.

Shishka! Thank you for taking your time out on this one man, I really appreciate it. I'd like it if you could take a look at my account, which has the gamertag Zekrom. It has played less than fifteen games and got both me and my buddies Xboxes banned for a week. You can see the games here: Hello!. It's fairly intuitive what happened. We were playing, and were getting matched up with derankers over. And over. And over. And over. This kept happening, and was annoying, so you can see my buddy went from his gamertag, Cobalion, to another, tu tight. Once he hopped on that account, you can see that I got host booted twice (the guy even sent me messages saying so), so we hopped on the other account, ran into the derankers AGAIN. Then we found a legit game. We started playing, happy as could be that we found the Halo 3 that we had missed so dearly, and low and behold, our joy is put out by the infamous "Your account has been banned from matchmaking for one week". I would really appreciate your help on this one. I know everyone is going to say "Halo is a dead game, it's five years old, just get on Reach", but this fanboy won't hear it. :) Anywho, again, thanks for taking the time out to hear us fans, and thanks for the great game and gaming community. -Hunter

ban Support Players...

Someone got raped hard by OGRE 2.

Mildly off-topic - Hey Shishka, what's the longest realistic ban time (As in, they'll still be alive to be unbanned) you've ever given out, and what was the reason behind the banning?

  • 05.24.2011 3:37 AM PDT

I was just banned last night and do not know why?
I am over 50 years old and in no way do I cheat.
I play every night and don't know why I am banned or for how long.
There has to be an explanation of this somewhere.
Where can I go?
Thanks
Nanc

I AR3 BK

Doubt this will do anything, but I've tried getting some answers as to why my console was banned form H3 matchmaking for a week and have not received any help. In fact, all I've gotten is a locked thread and warning that this account will be removed from the forums.

While playing H3 on the gamertag "XOXO Jennie" I received an in game message that my console was banned from matchmaking for a week at to visit bungie.net/bans. Having only played a few games last night it's easy to figure out that the system flagged me because I was repeatedly matched against boosters who quit in the team doubles playlist. I don't know the booster accounts, I didn't try and cheat the ranking system, I didn't host boot them.

Now I'm banned for no reason and getting no help from moderators so I'm fairly aggravated at this point. Thanks bungie

Been B& 3 times,so be careful in the forums,it's like a jungle

I know this is off topic, but complain threads are funny.

  • 05.24.2011 5:57 PM PDT

Please explain to me how my 10 year old son, who REFUSES to drop out of a game early, who knows NOTHING of boosting and always plays by the rules not only gets banned from earning credit for two weeks but also has ALL of his experience has been removed. He was busted down from commander to recruit.

Is there no one to contact about this? I pay a lot of money for the Halo games (as does everyone else). I think that it is irresponsible and un-American to pass judgement on someone without a right to appeal and without explanation as to why.

My son wants more of the Halo games. I refuse to spend money with a company that has no voice for it's consumers. Even though this is "only a video game" it is important to my son. If it is important to him then it is important to me.

If someone from the game creators staff can explain EXACTLY what caused his ban then I am all ears. Your response dictates my next steps. His gamertag is Sergeant1507. I am awaiting a reply.
