I'm not posting here to try and appeal my ban, I understand NOW that what I did is considered "cheating." Here's my beef:
I've been a fan of Halo since Combat Evolved, spent tons of money buying multiple consoles to host LAN parties at home, every Halo Special Edition console (even the Canadian Halo 2), currently have 3 360's strictly for Halo 3, have a Halo Day at least once a month at my home, have befriended many people solely from talking about Halo, etc...
I started additional profiles to allow my friends that don't own 360's to set their players up with whatever armor variants they wanted and save their control settings and yadda yadda yadda. I spent countless hours unlocking ALL achievements on 10 profiles. All because I love this game way more than any normal person should love a video game.
So, in an effort simply to save time earning the new achievements that came along with TU2, I joined a social match with 8 profiles (which is not a manipulation of the game AT ALL) to get achievements. I immediately received notification of 2 of my consoles being banned, and several profiles. I had no intentions of playing the game in a dishonorable fashion. I guess now I reap what my ignorance sows.
Essentially, I feel slapped in the face. I have done a lot to establish my own sort of local Halo community, which I thought Bungie was all about. This past Sunday when everyone came over to play, every time anyone signed in or out, the ban message resurfaced. It was awesome. I'm sure that's going to be funny to a lot of people, but to me it was infuriating. This whole experience has left a sour taste in my mouth.
I'm 29 years old (which sort of makes this whole grievance sad anyway). I don't care about boosting, I only cared about giving my friends the same Halo experience I've been loving for years. If anything, I guess this ban mess was just my cue to grow up and stop wasting so much time on a video game.
