lol... no raison.... anyway What's so good about an xp ban? It will just save ppl time not having to quit out of matches even if they do. I think it should be skill lvl too

I'm just wondering why they ban people for getting achievements in social playlists with their friends? Isn't the point of social playlists to play with one's friends? Did they not expect people to try to get achievements with their friends? It seems to me that they should have had some foresight when they made the achievements unlockable in social playlists. If they really wanted people to do it on their own, then they should have made them only available in ranked free for all like the original ones. Also, they should be focusing on people who actually are ruining the online experience for others rather than the people playing social games for achievements with their friends.

i really don't understand why you would ban a bunch of losers who spend countless hours trying to get a better rank. I mean i don't really care ( i have this thing called a life ) but still they aren't gaining anything and you aren't losing anything by people doing this.

Master Chief got beat by the L-Block in Tetris?!?! LMFAO

I never said exp boosting isn't bannable, I mean if you look at this whole thread you'll see that it is very much a bannable offense. What I did say was that achievement boosting isn't bannable under microsoft rules. So thank you for trying to tell me what a bannable offense is but that wasn't what I was argueing about.

On another note:
By the way Shiska, thank you for taking the time to help any people who may have been wrongly banned from the new powers of the banhammer. I realize what I did looked just like exp boosting when I was really just going for an achievement. So that won't happen again.

I have a question. I was playing some matchmaking today, winning some, and losing some. I had a streak going, and won a few games in a row. After this, I noticed I was not gaining any Exp. I didn't recieve a message telling me my account was banned, but it still will not let me gain Exp. Can somebody look into this?

Agreed
but bungie's definition of exp boosting is when u get a friend or two turn on guests and its just u guys playing as if it were a custom game except u all get exp no matter what

Junkiegamer

well i know i got banned at first i was pissed cause all i was doing was going for the achievements. i really don;t care about becoming a general. i'm happy at a light switch lol. but after sending messages to the bungie over loads and getting answers back. which i say thank you. i see what i did.. and i will say yes even though my friends were my guest and did not want to play that round or a few rounds i don't remember . .I'm like what ever now. its only two weeks. and when i they do let me get exp back then. i will be a change man. i will no longer boost. for me or others. see ya in 2 weeks.

- As is said on http://www.bungie.net/ban, it is not our problem if it is your brother, cousin, best friend, mom, dad, girlfriend, boyfriend, or kitten that got your console banned.
[Edit] One other thing: This is now the ONLY thread for discussion on EXP bans. Any new threads created to argue a ban will get locked.

lawl kitten, hopefuly i wont have to deal with any more threads like that anymore but theres always some1

I agree. And with the added "prize" that was announced on one of the updates, your just screaming "Let's get the achievements!"

I personally don't know why they are banning for EXP boosting in the first place. Not that I condone it or anything, but I'm pretty sure in one of the update a long time ago, Bungie did come out and said that EXP boosting wasn't cheating. Just frowned upon, since it wasn't ruining the XBL experience. Now they just come out and surprise us with under 10,000 bans in 3 days.

Another thing I don't understand is, if they don't want us to "Achievement boost" then why is there an Achievement that clearly supports "Achievements boosting".

Tank Dropper 25GS
On any Mythic map while in Forge , get a kill on another player while in monitor mode.

Your basically getting these points for free. But yet, if you do it for any other achievement, you'll be banned. It just doesn't make any sense to me.

I did exactly what the above says. I went into DLC FFA with my friends so that we could get achievements. The next day, I was banned for experience boosting. We played a total of 13 games, of which I don't remember if I got exp from all of them. I really didn't care if I got exp or not b/c we were only going for achievements and I don't really need exp, just higher true skill. What we were doing was not experience boosting, but helping each other get achievements because we assumed that we were allowed to do that since they could be gotten in social playlists as well as ranked. In my opinion, I don't think that I deserve a two week ban.

So my question to Shiska is this:
Does what I did with my friends warrant a 2 week ban, and if so, why are the achievements available in social in the first place?

I would greatly appreciate an answer, but I know you guys are busy with everything that is going on with XBL and maps and whatnot. I am not expecting the ban to be removed, though it would be nice if it was. I'm really just looking for an answer to my above question so I know more about why I was banned.

"Gaming is what I do... it's what I know... It's what I love!!!"

I got banned, but I deserved it...

I'll wait my two weeks and never do it again...

The following statement is true.
The previous statement is false.

So will it be a ban worth offense to get tank dropper?

I don't know too many people that play legit games in forge.

What if I have a guest signed in and I execute them with a tank or road cone?

This seems like it would be a very subjective depending on the monitor that delves out said bans.

Ok, I am not sure about the terms of what is and what is NOT considered "cheeting"

the reason I ask is I have the tendency to quit when a game is going badly. IE: I am unevenly matched against a teem that is WAY better than me (Like pitting a private against a general) or If I am just WAY better than my opponents...

Now I have heard it said that doing this excessively is considered "de-ranking" though I am unsure...

And yes, If I am just too good and there is no challenge, I quit... it's no fun playing against noobs.

I am asking this: are the definitions of cheating spelled out somewhere I can read?

I have read this: http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=8041858
It's just not clear as to what cheating is, pertaining to Halo 3.

dude is it true that yesterday you couldn't gain exp because of the xbox live update thingy

Your race is no longer in charge of anything. We are free to walk this earth again, as we did before.

And no, that's not racism, that's how the llamas will conquer the world.

By the way, aren't you suppose to recieve a message saying that you got banned when you get banned?

Because I'm pretty much 75% sure that I'm banned, but I don't recieve a message about it. Everything is just normal, except I don't get EXP.
