Where did that ban thread go...

sure thing, he doesn't play much as he doesn't have Halo 3, he mostly plays GOW, his GT is xDr Gonzo
but as I said, it is MY account which is banned, so that means that the infraction was under MY account.

Some bans are banning the persons xbox, so no gamertags can earn exp. Your friend's not played any games for 5 months, so i guess thats out of the picture, I cant tell why your banned.

If there is a limit to how many times you quit out, that would be the most plausible reason as to why I am banned, as I did have a bad connection, until I called up my IT guy 2 days ago and he told me how to open my NAT :):):) and I do boot my friends alot from them betraying me, then I leave and join their games.

A repeated amount of games being quited would be flagged opon the system, if the quiting continued id say further precations would be taken into action.

You cannot get banned for something you did that was in the past before it was law, It is like someone makes a new law that you can't play videogames and you stop playing them but you get arrested anyways. Plus all the other people that I know got the ban after the match they boosted, since I boosted before the banhammer was on and before i got warning, i think it is unfair, as soon as i knew the banner hammer was on, i did not do this, even before i knew, i did not recently do it.

I just want ot know, and if bungie can confirm this, can you get banned for boosting before the banhammer was on or before you gave notice that it was coming on?

The ban hammer has been up since halo 3 was created, the updates just enforced the banhammer and made it more stonger, boosting before was a bannable offence, bungie didnt have the time to ban all the boosters and the system, since they created a system to do the banning while they concentrate on more important matters.

Yes, for months now they have been saying that if you boost, you will be banned.

Did you recieve the message that you were banned at all? Problems with Xbox live/Skill System/Exp system has been happening since the last few days.

The only thing I have ever herd that you will get banned for this was in the TU2 FAQ which was out after I did my boosting.

Here's the Quote:

Q: Now that you have a per-playlist rating system and an achievement tied to earning a Lieutenant rating in a playlist, there seems to be more people EXP boosting than ever before. What is being done about this?

A: Boosting or doing anything to manipulate the way in which you earn EXP is considered a violation of the terms of use for playing Halo 3 matchmaking. As a result, we will be detecting and punishing people who are guilty of this. Our new system is nearly online and when it’s unleashed it will automatically detect and deal with this issue. In the interim, we are manually reviewing player activities and unleashing the Banhammer as appropriate. The base penalty for first time offenders will be a two week EXP ban – this means you will not be able to earn ANY exp for two weeks. You will also be under close scrutiny for any future infractions, potentially resulting in harsher punishments. If someone manages to slip through the cracks and boost their way to General before they are caught, we will dish out appropriately stricter punishments up to preventing you from playing entirely. Play the game the correct way or you will end up riding hard on the business end of the Banhammer. You have been warned.

Next time your searching for a game, a little message appears (just under 'Looking for players') about new updates and relevant information towards halo 3. One that has been there ever since i can remember states 'Cheating is against the rules of halo 3, you have been warned, the banhammer is watching'. (or something along them lines, i cannot remember word for word).

That never popped up anytime I have ever looked at it, so how am I supposed to know that you couldn't boost. They should have put it a month ago in one of theri weekly updates.

I recently recovered my gametag onto a friends xbox. Now I just logged on and won 3 games and did not receive any exp. I know I haven't done anything to deserve this, I would appreciate in you guys investigating and solving this matter. Thank you.
