Today, October 3rd I signed into my xbox live account, ‘Rockitinmybutt.’ I got a message that this account has been perminality banned from halo 3 matchmaking and this console has been perminality banned from matchmaking.
I understand that my account has been banned from matchmaking by boosting exp but I don’t understand why my console has gotten banned from Halo 3 matchmaking. Please tell me why my console has gotten perminality banned. Thanks in advance.

Consol banning is usually something more serious that exp boosting. Shishka would have to look into this.

Yeah I got exp banned for having guests signed in. My wife however was playing some of the games and no offense to her, but she's not the greatest player. I've been hooked on Halo since day one (It's the only reason I have an Xbox, because personally I'm not a fan of Microsoft. Halo 3 is only game I own for the 360, I didn't buy my box until September 26th last year. A day after Halo 3 came out) and had I known I could get banned for signing in lifeless zombies I wouldn't have done it. I read the weekly update every week and have read about the banhammer. When they talked about boosting I thought they were referring to things like aimbots and hacking. I think they should be more clear about the banhammer. I saw all the warnings and everything, but yeah, no clue you could get banned for that. I don't think achievements should be in social playlists for this very reason. And for what it's worth even after Bungie posted that the exp issue was fixed I would only get exp every other game even though I'd get 1st place. Yeah, banned for 2 weeks and it's during the 7th so that's lame, so no Halo for 2 weeks I guess.

Cookie, I'd like to know your thoughts on Sketch saying achievement boosting is not a bannable offense the day after TU2 hit.

Also, you never replied to my earlier response to your "what now, buddy?" remark and citation of a shishka game that had highjacker medals from a different date than his achievement-earned date for the Maybe Next Time Buddy. I'm just curious about this one in particular because of how difficult it is to get without someone's assistance.

I know your having fun pointing out people's boosting games, but please reply.

Sulfuric- I went through a few of your recent games and I must say that I doubt your story. In the last 15 or so of your games your "wife" didn't even get one kill. I understand that people can be extremely bad at the game, but to not get one kill in fifteen games?

Come on, there's no need to lie; you got caught boosting and now you are facing the consequences. You can still play Halo 3, you just won't be getting experience for a couple of weeks.

Hey Cookie, I'm going to take your silence as avoidance. Is the reason your dodging me because of this?

http://www.bungie.net/Stats/GameStatsHalo3.aspx?gameid=656572 40&player=cookie%20of%20chaos

2 players in one game get the Maybe Next Time Buddy without boosting? Doubtful. Might want to get off your high-"you boost you get banned"-horse.

I'm about through with this BS thread. 5 days now with no Bungie presence. No responses to legitimate concerns. This has been a colossal waste of time. I'm still a huge Halo fan, but a Bungie fan... I am no longer.

I never denied it. All I said was my wife played some. Some as in 5 out of the past 20 I played. And she is that bad. She runs around with her gun pointed at the sky. And my biggest pet peeve are people that accuse me of lying. I didn't say my wife was playing every game I play. She hates Halo and so it's hard to get her to play. And of course I was caught boosting. That's why I'm banned. Like I said I just wish it was more clear. Alot less people would be banned had it been clear as to what boosting was. I'm not in with the "Gaming talk" so please don't accuse me of lying you don't know anything from looking at game records.

Can someone Who works for bungie please tell me what my offense was for being banned because as of right now I really have no clue. It would be nice to know why I'm being banned from gaining xp (console and account). I have never boosted for xp, and don't ever plan to. I don't know how I got in this mess... Thank you...

im back! well just for mayby one post anyway.

right, well i just wanted to thank those who sent me messages of support or agreement on some of the issues i brought up. Also to COOKIE, i want to provide the olive branh of peace to you. Looking over this thread, you did provide some help to our fellow members, when it appears that bungie had abandoned this thread. you just came off to be a bit jugemental on members when clearly many had no idea they were doing anything wrong. As for the achievement boosting thing... well we are going to have to agree to disagree. I feel gamers are using the exploits easily provided to them, as they had since the KONAMI code on the NES Contra in the 80's, while you feel it is cheating and bannable. I RESPECT your opinion, and the others who feel the same. I just feel gamers , do what you, want but dont hurt others. Ghostworm, thankyou for the back up. 'tis was a spirited debate indeed.

Now BUNGIE, oh bungie, bungie, bungie. I love you guys, really i do, but sometimes i feel you guys make mistakes, just like us your followers, it's allright were all human, its all in our wirering. im not mad at cha. Just go a little easy on us sometimes, its ok. hopefully we'll get some aswers in a weekly update.

just a thought. Maby bungie should let those who truely are trying to rank boost keep doing it. If they only are 30 or 40 and falsly boost to 50 more often than not they will be most likely matched up against those legitly ranked higher and they will probaly be spanked and ridiculled in the lobby. and then then they will likley abbandon that account. For example i used to play BURNOUT REVENGE religiously before H3 came out, and made it to a rank of 200 out of 75,000, thats pretty good. Well it seemed like the pressure was allways on me to perform great when i was that highly ranked. If i had a bad game or day, i would get trashed by those lower ranked than i. And i was legit. sometimes being top ranked is not fun. i think mayby BUNGIE may be stopping rank boosters for their own good, to protect them from future embarassment. Dont just point fingers at boosters or the like, guide them to understand why a rule is put in place. Just a thought.

anyways be cool to each other people

the lovable rascle IYCON

Has anyone been experiencing any problems with gaining expericence and not being ban.
i did not recieve any message from the game telling me i am ban from matchmaking for 2 weeks but i can't gain experience and i have been winning games.
does anyone know what is going on?i hope the same problem that happened the other day isn't repeating itself, because i did not do anything that would have gotten me ban nor did i get a message that said i was ban.
and im sorry if this sound like i am whing or complaining because i am not im just a little confused about why i am winning and not gaining experience and im not ban.
i never got a message and i always check my messages so i dont know.
ANYONE ELSE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH EXPERIENCE??!!

-i searched and i know the news has said there still mite be problems but it also said it should be back to normal..i just wanted to post this just in case Bungie thought everything was back to normal, but i am still having problems and other may be as well
