So I don't get this whole ban thing myself. Bungie, why don't you create an entire FAQ about this so that people can go into that section and learn what they can/can’t do. Another thing you may want to do is place a notice with a new update on Live for people to agree to your terms of use before they play. It sucks for people who don't have a computer and play on Live, those who don't know about B.net, etc. When you read the Halo 3 instructions, there is no mention of any of this (which is obvious since boosting and cheating wasn’t anticipated). Much like the dmv, people know the rules before they can break them. Granted that isn't the way with everything in life, but this is a game and you guys seem to care about the community enough to ban people in order TO make the game enjoyable for everyone, so I am sure doing something like this is logical and should be a priority. I personally hate people who cheat and think that they should be restricted from screwing up everything for everyone else, but there are people that make honest mistakes or did not know that what they did was cheating.
Would anyone care to inform me on what is classified as cheating? I understand people say boosting, but what does that really mean? Instead of giving examples of boosting via link, can someone (whether Bungie or some other poster) create a detailed explanation for me and everyone else? I know it has been said that if you don’t intentionally cheat you wont need to worry, but I can imagine wrongful bans have happened because of various reasons that were not known or defined as cheating beforehand.
Much appreciated.
