There are many powers in the world, for good or for evil. Some are greater than I am. Against some I have not yet been measured. But my time is coming.

I would call this boosting. Here's an idea: Play the game the way it is intended and there will be no questions.

What, and just troll the forum instead?

I'm pretty sure the moral of the story is to play the game with integrity, and without boosting achievements or EXP.

And that is why Magic Jambo goes on my preferred players list.

He's right.

If you ever have a question about the storyline of Halo, ask me. I have extensive knowledge about it and I want others to know about how intricate and exciting it is.

I'm not here to complain or accuse anybody of anything but I would like to bring one fact that has happened to one of my "I know in real-life" friends. My friend Riddlez and I were sitting in Matchmaking lobby talking when he told me he wanted to show me screenshot that he had recently taken. I told him ok but as soon as he selected "File Share" under the start menu, a message popped up that told him he was permantly banned from File Share use due to violating the Code of Conduct.

It all seems legit except for a few major flaws. First of all I'd like to point out that if you have a modded or offensive screenshot in your File Share and you become temporarily or permantly banned from use, the screenshot is taken out so that it can no longer be downloaded. Am I right? Of course I am.

The thing is, when he was suddenly permantly banned from File Share use, no screenshot was removed from his File Share. I thought that was odd. Another major thing is, is that Bungie's system is supposed to automatically send at least one warning message telling you that repeated offenses will result in a temporary/permanent ban or the system is supposed to temporarily ban from use for a bout two weeks.

Neither of these happened. Not even once. Where's the mercy? He had no bad screenshots or videos on his File Share, he never had any time of warning message, and no gaming content was removed from his File Share following the ban. What am I missing here? Am I not seeing something that I should?

I don't know.

P.S. To top it all off, he was the creater of one of the screenshots that was shown on homepage of Bungie in that video presenting the screenshots of 2008.
(It was the one with the yellow and green guy looking out in the distance on the beach on Last Resort. Its original name was Uncle Riddlez and NEphew Mittenz.)

If you would like to come in contact with me concerning this; my GT is "The GodBRo". Thanks

No screenshots/videos can be removed, no screenshots/videos can be added to the fileshare.
Warnings have been provided on the internet, through users and by pressing start (To the right of bungie favourites, marketplace ect.)

You had something among your fileshare that was bannable, by the terms of your post and the use of words, states that it obviously was offensive.

The ban is not just for offensive file share material. It is for anything that is not regular game content. Anything modded or from outside the game will result in an immediate ban. There is no warning. As has been pointed out multiple times, you have been warned already. There is an in-game pop up message while you are searching in matchmaking. There have been numorous discussions in Bungie Weekly Updates. This is not to mention the Terms of Use or the Code of Conduct that prohibit such things. And, of course, commone sense should guide your behavior above all.

May not have been offensive to your eyes, but towards bungie's rules there must have been something.

Anything that is not a halo screenshot/video.
Anything that is modded.

These result in the ban.

***it’s not who you are underneath, but what you do that defines you***

Is the concept of following what shishka said hard to follow.Stop posting if you werent banned!

  • 12.27.2008 7:10 AM PDT

I would not be posting on this thread right now if something on my file share was offensive.....i would except the fact that something on thier was bad and i would go on with my life.....but thier is a small problem.....nothing on my file share is offensive in any way...I dont even have any modded or non-halo related files on my xbox...as soon as they said they were banning i deleted all of the stuff that could have been offensive....i dont see how a picture of me owning Roy or a CTF Onslaught game where i went 40 and 10 could be offensive....

I see a contradiction in these statements. What did you delete?

Burn bright; burn blue.

Ok Overlord, here's the one you've been waiting to see:

I haven't recieved a ban notification THAT I'M AWARE OF, but today, 12/27/08, I've been playing Big Team, and not receiving any exp for wins. What's the deal?

Here's the kicker, last time my group of friends was on (4 of us total) we didn't have any problems gaining exp in big team.

With as little as I play, and as horrible as I am at getting online achievements (still trying for that ever elusive Overkill), it doesn't even seem like I was mistakenly banned.

Help is needed, in the worst way.

EDIT: This issue seems to have corrected itself.
