Bungie Pentathlon - who actually cares ?
Posted by: SwungMean
cut short....
This lack of paragraphing is causing my eyes to hurt......right time to analyze the latest rant:
The bungie.net/ban page doesnt say anything about achievements
Types of violation include, but are not limited to, the following example actions
You know its boosting, so why claim ignorance ? Stealing a fish or a car is still stealing and boosting skill or achievements is still boosting...
Again I quote Shishka:
If you're cheating to get Achievements, you're still cheating. The banhammer is aimed at the behavior, not the intent. "I was just trying to get Yorick" won't get you out of the EXP ban
Your either new to Halo or boosting another account since youve barely broke 100 games so either way i dont think you should tell me what to do especially if your actually boosting an account
I stopped playing Halo 3 MM a long time ago, the reason I have stopped is because of the constant abuse of the matchmaking system. Besides I am not the one to be scrutinised here, as unlike yourself, I have nothing to hide.
Your second paragraph of rant, is just pure guff and not related to your cheating...if you have an issue with the Lag etc, then please discuss it in the main forum and not spam this thread
Cheers

I have never manipulated my connection Cookie. The only thing that has happened to my connection was my dad and brother have turned off my router because the internet was not working on their PCs. I have no modded content and I don't know why I was file share banned. Does Bungie just have some unprecedented grudge against me or what?
Nope, Bungie's stance is:
As is said on http://www.bungie.net/ban, it is not our problem if it is your brother, cousin, best friend, mom, dad, girlfriend, boyfriend, or kitten that got your console banned. If it turns out that your gamertag is suffering from their wrongdoing, that is an issue you'll have to take up with them - Shishka

Isnt it great that Bungie wants to ban people for helping their friends get a really hard achievement? That they dont want us to get in some cases extremely hard medals or achievements, that the only way to get them is illegal? Must they make such hard accomplishments? This idea is terrible, and the "banhammer" is just a way to extend Bungie cockiness and arrogance. Way to go Bungie!
So you are saying that if the going gets tough the tough get cheating ? If something is hard to do then the level of satisfaction you will get from obtaining whatever it is you are after is priceless. Saying that Bungie shouldn't part "hard accomplishments" in their game is perhaps one of the poorest backlashes I have heard.
The only way to get them is to get them properly. Banning people for cheating, no matter what context, is fine by me and every legit Halo gamer.
If you want something easy, boot up Army Men on the PS1 and go nuts.

I'm pissed because my roomate went and got his account banned from matchmaking and now I can't play matchmaking with my gamertag because apparently the box was banned as well.
Yeah it is unfortunate when this happens, but you are ultimately responsible for your gamertag and hardware (if it is yours)
Go on just one more:

I was trying to help a friend with an achievement (I have now read all the ban stuff so I now know Bungie's stance on this)
So why do it? If you know the stance then why break the rules? Just desserts matey
Does having this ban exclude me from anything? Like Bungie favourites or getting Recon if I get really good in next years team doubles valentine thing or something. Not that I ever will get those things but I'd like to know so i'm sure, thanks.
I don't think there is any definitve text from a Bungie rep regarding this, just sit tight and wait for the inevitable 1 million topics in the main H3 forum to pop up when its announced
