I know I have been banned for no reason. I decided to play and let my special needs children that I take care of regularly play some games on a Saturday afternoon. I had a couple friends play with us so we didn't bother anyone else 's games. 2 of the 3 children are in wheelchairs and have almost no motor skills.
Obviously the kids didn't do so well, mostly shooting ceilings, walking into walls, and half the time their controllers were shutting off do to non use, but they still wanted to play.
So now I know to not let anyone play halo 3 and/or any Bungie game if they can't get a couple kills, sounds a little discriminatory but what can you do?
I do have the links to the 8 games that were played that day 4/11/2009. But I did notice that the information is wrong on most of them, like 5 on 3, we never had one uneven match but it says on the overview that we did? And says My team came in 2nd place then click on overview and says we came in first? And at least twice my kids were on the other team but not according to the overview! Whatever.
Here is the page with the 8 games that were played, 4/11/2009 12:52:50 pm through 4/11/2009 6:11:25 pm.

Chances are his console will already be banned.

O trust me I've learned my lesson and will do custom games next time, truth is I never play custom and don't care for it, it just doesn't feel as real...I don't know. But thank you for your input

I actually got this message earlier tonight stating my console was exp banned. Really funny considering I have not, nor will I ever modify my console, boost, or otherwise cheat. My roommate noticed some screwy games this past weekend, but nothing more than the usual we've come to expect from our unreliable internet. I've no doubt we're host banned, and should be with this unreliable internet, but exp banned? I fail to see the logic. We do also use a "second account" to go raping, after we've had it done to us enough times. Sadly though there's no rule against this, and we usually just use the free month then leave it be for a while before making a new one after a string of losses.

Really lame, and seriously made me think about picking COD4 back up, but then we just hooked another 360 up and solved the problem. Still the randomness of this is aggravating.

If your roommate is caveman1685, he was experience boosting in Rumble Pit.

I admit, I should have never 'boosted' I'm not saying I didn't do it. To tell you the truth, I didn't know it was wrong at all at first. I agree with Splinter3232 to a point, only I'm the one who got banned, and the other six people of whome did it with me, are still doing it. They've been at it for a good week, and some of them are much higher that me in rank. They laughed when I told them it had banned me from doing it twice, when they keep at it daily with no avail.

I think it's a great idea and use 2 week bans, to keep people from doing it. As long as we can stop all people, and not let some of them pass.

I don't mean to 'spam' your board. I'm only a chick trying to get word across, that some people, some how, are avoiding your punishment.

Why not play custom games?

Just because they are in wheel chairs, or lack motor coordination, doesn't mean, that they couldn't realize they weren't playing on actual LIVE. Have you ever thought that they might actually WANT to play live? There's a word for that, it's called discrimination.

How exactly would you break it to a special needs child that they're not good enough to play with others over live?

This is one of the times, whether you believe so or not, that they should have never been banned.

Seriously, plus how is playing a custom game in any way less than "actual live?" It's still competition with actual people. Far-fetched story asided, rules were broken consequences were incurred.

Hmmm . . . since I never said that, I'm going to guess that you don't know how to quote people . . .

I got banned from file share system and boosting is wrong.

but still i got banned from file share system ¬¬

  • 04.20.2009 2:54 PM PDT

How is it a far-fetched story? Far-fetched that I take care of these children, or far-fetched I let them play my game? Do you hear yourself talk?

Oh and by the way, how is custom less than playing actual live you ask?
In custom games there is no point or rank system.......... maybe I should be taking care of you too.

So far-fetched story "ASIDE",
No rules were broken unless the rules are; You and all players must get points or be banned, because that's what happened.

Where did that ban thread go...

Boosting is of course wrong, but so is having modded content on your fileshare ¬¬

this account ranks:

TD: 50, TSW: 45, TS: 44, TSN: 38, MLG: 32, LW: 20

Previous accounts:

TD: 50, TS: 50, TSW: 50, LW: 48, TSN: 45, MLG: 37

A few months ago, I was EXP banned. I learned my lesson. Guys, just follow the rules. It's a game. Don't cheat!

You can be hostile and flame all you want sir. It's far-fetched because I have no basis to believe your story one way or another, so again maybe you should calm down with your flames. Are you saying that the only point to the game is the ranking system? Simply playing is not enough for these kids? Kids that you say that have a tough time playing to even gain a point in the system (again these assumptions make it less credible)? Rules were broken in the aspects that your gameplay looks an awful like you were manipulating the true skill system. The system takes into account things like shots fired and where players get killed I highly doubt it flagged your games just on the premise of players not getting points.

Don't see how it's funny, and don't see how you're helping to this topic or forum at all, you should be blacklisted.

I never said playing was not enough for the children or that they wanted rank or exp, first of all they were playing with the guest tags. I had replied to someone else on here regarding that I should play custom games and I agreed. When I started to play that day I didn't even think of custom because I don't like custom, I have 2 gamer tags totaling almost 6,000 games played and have 10 custom games total, I just don't play it so didn't cross my mind that day.

And not to argue about whether you believe me or not but I'm not here to convince anyone, my wife found the forum and thought I should add our experience about being banned.
I have not asked to be let off of the ban and don't care at this point since I can still play, but I don't think that there system is ready for prime time yet.

So, I got a 1 week matchmaking ban and was wondering if the ban period is down to the minute, or if it resets at the strike of midnight? Can anyone help me with this?

In most cases, it's usually the next day and the ban will be over.

Caboose: If I was bitten by one, does that mean I'll turn into one?

Church: Shut up Caboose.

Caboose: BLAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRG....

Church: SHUT..UP..CABOOSE!

I just don't think Bungie is asking much of people to just follow the rules and play nice.

Thanks for that, I didn't know about that, and he claims he didn't know he was exp boosting, plausible, though not really likely. In either case I think he now knows and also knows I can find out about it. So I doubt he will pull this again, at least not on my xbox. Again thank you for setting me strait, and showing the system was in fact working.
