With Microsoft to unveil the new mod program "Tsunami" soon, I though we should make a thread about all the endless posibilieties of mods we could do on Halo 2!

If you don't know, a mod is a variation of a game. This program will allow anyone to create there own MP maps, characters, weapons, settings, emblems, etc. off of Halo 2. Essentialy you could make your own game. They will then be public on Xbox Live for anyone to download and play vs. eachother. For example... back in the 90's Half-Life on the PC had many mods go public and the developer Valve even supported it (as will Bungie). One of the most famous mods is the most played game on the Internet and one of the most played on Xbox Live...Counter-Strike. Two college students created this mod in their doorm room during soem spare time... think what we could do then with Halo 2!

You create a game as the Covenant but set in Normandy Beach durring WWII... the possibilieties are endless!!

So here in this thread I want to here the craziest, coolest, and actually good ideas that you could mod off Halo 2 when it and Tsunami launchs.

You're mistaken. Tsunami is already out. It is Xbox Live 3.0. It does allow for things like emblems and maps, but that's it. And the game must be programmed to support it. Halo 2 will support player emblems. It has not been announced how this will be implemented, though. Bungie has not announced any support for player created maps. I doubt they will.

Tsunami does not allow you to create game mods or add-ons.

Tsunami has nothing to do with maps. Maps have been supported since Xbox Live launched. The new features are listed here.

Player created maps have not been supported through Xbox Live before version 3.0.

Player-created content isn't supported now, at least not directly. The online storage could change that, but it really depends on if it is publicly accessible.

Yep, Title-Managed Online Storage is what will enable the use of player created content. This includes multi-player maps. This was announced by J. Allard. Currently, no games support this. I would guess that content creation would probably need to be done on a PC. I'd hate to try creating a MP map, or even a small emblem, using the Xbox controller.

Well, that'll be cool. Halo 2 won't be supporting it unfortunately. I think that it was Parsons who said that.

Custom MP maps will be a feature of Halo 2. This was announced by Parsons at E3.
