If there is any power to be found, it's within yourself, not your weapon.

This thread is being locked solely for the reason that it is "off-topic" for The Library. This forum is designated specifically for discussing Halo 1 on Xbox (not Halo 2’s Multiplayer, Campaign or XBL). There are other dedicated forums for those subjects.

If you look at the forum listing in the upper right corner of the page, you will see all 12 of the Bungie.Net forums. The more popular ones even have a brief description of the topics they are setup to handle.

Posting threads in the wrong forum almost guarantees that they will be locked. Going to the right forum and taking a moment to scan the first few pages of it for similar topics can (and will) save you time and make sure the effort of posting isn't wasted when your thread becomes locked.

What's this I hear about MS cutting Halo 2 short so they can package the extra levels into an expansion downloaded from Xbox live? Can't Bungie be set apart from Mr. Monopoly long enough to make a truly perfect game? Why not just make Halo 3, with just a whole bunch of levels to finish off the game, no truly advanced or new stuff required, then release it before Xenon?

The chances of this rumour being true is so high considering MS' history.

Well, I can understand why'd they release Halo 3 for the Xenon, but...well, can't we get those extra levels in a plain and proper bought-at-the-game-store way?

They do own them...

You do know that add-ons and expansions are much more difficult to do on a console than on a PC or Mac right? Halo 2 is on a self-contained DVD that cannot be written to. Creating a large expansion would be much more complicated than a simple patch or copying and pasting a few files into the correct folder.

Also, Bungie has said that downloadable content will primarily be Multiplayer maps with the occasional slight fix/update.

The idea of a single player expansion as part of some future downloadable content is an unfounded rumor. Only trust news that comes directly from Bungie.
