The first time I played it propperly was at my friend's on New Years Eve, a couple of weeks later I got an Xbox with Halo and stowed the old piece of kit that was of course my PS2.

I first played it a week after it came. Had no idea what it was. Then, I went to my friends house again, and then found out what it was. Then I got it for christmas that year. It was crazy. First time I saw multiplayer action, was I was at my friends party, and they were playing hang 'em high. It was crazy, because rockets were all over the place. Bodies hitting the floor, etc.

lol constantly throughout the single player campaign, first was when I saw the three way battle between Spartan, Covenant and Flood in AotCR when you try to get to the last pulse generator, and then when I completed the game on Legendary it felt like an achievement!
And when we discovered the joys of multiplayer halo

It was a cold cold day in walmart, we bought the game without even looking at the other games on the rack. I took the game home and didn't even take my shoes off b4 i was putting the game in XBOX. Me and my brothers looked on in amazement as we fought our way through the covenant landing parties and made it to the escape pod. I then realized from that moment on, God put me on this planet for one reason HALO.

Now here a few years later i am to venture on another holy quest , to protect mankind and fulfill my addiction. Bungie keep up the fabulous work.

When I got to the end of the Pillar of Autumn and jumped into the escape pod. I was like, "What was so damn sweet!". At first I wanted to play that level again just to get the ultimate feel of the game and storyline. But then I landed on Halo and came out with "Holy S**t!". I played the entire game just mesmorized by the graphics, gameplay, surroundings, storyline.

After playing, I just wanted more. I played the entire game again in Legendary (played the first time in Heroic).

Then began to play mutliplayer. Again, mesmorized by the sheer addictiveness of the gameplay. LAN parties were a must and every so often, 15 other people get the urge for some mass carnage and end up playing a huge Systemlink.

PS. Pretty sweet subject by the way. I don't care if its original or not its still a great breath of fresh air from all those favourites this, glitches that.

Half from the start video on the first level, half when you just get to drive the warthog, and the last half when I got to drive the tankand the banshee.
That's right. Halo is good to 150%. At least.

I realized it when I first played it, at a friend's house, one on one on Blood Gulch against his older brother. Though I lost horribly, I was hooked forever. This was also my first time playing xbox; if it weren't for Halo I would never have gotten one. Go Bungie!

When I finally broke the game at level 99 and it restarted. Oh those little blocks, spinning and rotating, cmon, I need a long piece, TETRIS !!

Sorry I may have misunderstood the question though...

The first time I ever played was like 2 days after the game came out. It was cool because it was on a big-screen tv with surround sound. That is the way you can feel the power of the master chief and his balls of steel.
