I'm making a suggestion list-tell me any ideas of what you think should be in Halo 2! I have some good ones myself and I am hoping Bungie will find some they didn't have in this post that they think is good and will add it to their game and possibly change the release date? I don't care, just as long as Halo 2 is as good as possible.(I am filled with as much anticipation as you!)
[color=blue]Suggestion list[/color]:
-high tech AI(I know it's already coming but...) ex: marines will see a covie coming to your left and say "their coming from left!" "watch out west!" "watch your 9!" etc.
-new vehicles: transportation covie vehicle to carry more than 1 person, drivable wraith tanks new flying ships (a human one too!)
-sword dueling(interactive close combat engaging system):two people run up to eachother with a plasma blade-who wins, the first guy to swing? sounds too easy. There should be a way to like parry with a counter strike of your own. Since I don't know exactly how the sword works or how much damage it does (I'm sure it does a one hit kill right?) I can't make exact suggestions on this, but Bungie should invest time to make it so two people can fight it out as though they were fighting like samurais instead of just first person to slice the other guy wins...boring! [color=silver]ALSO[/color] how is the sword v gun system going to work? I guess there should be a way that if you're holding a sword you move quicker and can jump faster and longer, because if your running at a guy with a gun all he does is backs up and lays the lead all over your face and you can't keep up to him? that would suck
-AI command: you can tell marines to drive you to the nav point if one is near, or maybe some SIMPLE squad commands(I don't want this to be a squad tactics based game..) like you go to a marine and push x and he will automatically take cover and cease firing during a fire fight.
-DESTROYABLE SHIPS:I hated the invincible drop ships last time: you should be able to destroy them with certain weaponry/precision firing(shoot at it's phase warp drive/ fire an anti-armor gun anywhere at it, fire some sort of nano technological device that sabotages the ship and self destructs it? lol okay that last one was very creative)
-improved stealth tactics: this time when you sneak up and hit them from behind, someone nearby shouldn't hear it! a SLIGHT basis of splinter cell could be used (not too much-this isn't a stealth tactics game)
-grenade lobbing technique: perhaps like hold down L for 2 secs and when you let go it will lob it a useful and common distance(so you can get it over obstacles). I personally like everything of how the grenade throwing system works, but getting over obstacles is a prob and although you COULD throw it straight in the air, there should be a reasonble lobbing throwing distance allowing technique! (it takes forever for arc'ed grandes to come back down)
-rolling technique: marines and covies can do it...why not the master chief?! tap in the left control stick while moving...I don't know if a tap sensing trigger can be enabled for pushing in a control stick, but if not perhaps like you move in a direction left or right and you push it to roll a certain distance, depending on how fast your moving
-20 levels instead of 10, 1 normal ultimate ending, and after you get that you can unlock alternate game endings that wouldn't really affect the true overall story for Halo (only the 1 true ending affects how events will be played in Halo 3: invasion of covie planets (hehe just made that up...) IF there is a Halo 3) secret levels, optional mission objectives will unlock secrets/different game story route/ending. MANY UNANSWERED STORY QUESTIONS/POSSIBILITES NEED TO BE CONFIRMED/DENIED!
-tactical mission objectives, potentially optional ex: "we need you to take out the canon northwest...get to the captain on the rooftops left of here to call in an airstrike in 3 mins or that thing is going to be online and wipe us all out! We'll hold position here...it's too risky to move in now" failure to do so makes the cannon online and throughout some of the level you will have to evade it's fire. another ex: "They're being reinforced by that air field, we'll hold em here as long as you can, quickly destroy the landing mechanisms so we can move in our armor and hold in further reinforcements quickly go!" the longer it takes you, the more marines die and overall more people you lose to help you fight the waves of covies. optional ex: you have a time limit to get to a point and on your way you have the option to lose time by destroyng a communication mechanism of the covies but by doing so will prevent phantoms from coming in later to shoot at you
-storyline: you meet other spartans that will help you or the battle to save earth(even if they are not directly helping you, they are somewhere else on earth fighting) maybe some of them die? Maybe I just spoiled some of the story?

Well these are some good ones I can think of...hope others will help build onto these suggestions with their own, or provide good ones of their own. Needless to say there should be more vehicles, weapons, and levels, but if you can provide specific good examples thats fine (ex: there should be a covenenat plasma based weapon that freezes an enemy for a short time).
[color=red]My anticipations[/color]: (just some ideas, feel free to add on to these or add your own)
343 GS floats around, finds a covie ship and reveals the location of earth (I guess he found it out because for some reason it was in the PoA databse, although according to cole protocol I don't know why that is....) otherwise I doubt covies could've found our planet before MC got there....I think there will be other spartans with the older armor and then that new project from that scientist who was claimed to have a hidden project equal to the spartans unleashes even more powerful spartans almost like MC(maybe better) but they become rampant and humans must fight them as well as covies(or perhaps they are such a threat that covies and humans team against them). By the end of the story I also think the prophets will be hated and the covenant may be seperated and fighting eachother(maybe some decide to stay with the prophets-grunts/jackals and others battle them-elites/brutes)

Don't be afraid to write your own ideas!

I seriously doubt they will change the release date, especially since they are so close to finishing the game... I know they want it to be as cool as possible as well but I'm sure everyone at Bungie is so ready to get evertyhing done and have a break for a little will....a break they all deserve

Ya I figured, and I seriously doubt they would change it, but perhaps if they think something is too good to be true, the will....still doubtful though. I'm tired of Halo 2....WHERE IS HALO 3?

Some of your ideas are already in the game. The sword dueling thing would become too much like Star Wars, and pushing in the Left Thumbstick is already used for ducking. How would the grenade thing work, it would be almost exactly the same as it is now. I saw no problem getting grenades around obstacles, just bounce the grenade against a wall behind the obstacle (or other object) or just throw the grenade next to the obstacle to flush out the enemy.

What? there not in the game! and by rolling, right after your roll ends you end up in a crouching position, then you can crouch walk, but you mostly don't do this in a real battle while rolling may be useful however. I assumed you would know that. This only is if you cant tap it in to roll, otherwise you just hold it down to duck but if not and If you don't wanna roll, simply stop moving and then crouch. the dueling-yeah I know, don't mean it to be a damn sword fighting game, but there should be some sword battling engine behind it I mean come on-just walk up to someone and stab em too easy! the grenade thing would be the same-L to throw grenades, but to LOB it you hold L a lil longer then it will lob it a set distance-I don't mean the distance of the throw will be affected by the pressure sensitivity, just that if you hold it a bit longer and let go you will lob it.
