I think this would be an excellent idea... the community is completely divided right now, between those who hate Halo 2 and those who completey love it.

If the people who dislike Halo 2 got what they pretty much wanted in the first place (to have a game like Halo on Live... not "Halo Version 2") they would be happy.

I'm all for the idea.

This should come with a content download, like Halo1 features, or a mini Halo1 game, or a double pack: Halo1 and 2.

I KNOW that they won't do this. Man I wish they would, but I just KNOW that they won't. But there IS another way.

We are all pretty sure there will be a Halo 3. Even though Bungie did make a TON of money off of Halo 2, I'm sure they still have some care for their fans. All they need to do is combine the greatness of Halo 1 with the goodness of Halo 2, and we will have a GREAT game. I've heard that the 2nd game in a franchise is usually a somewhat experimental game. Hopefully they know what we want now.

From Halo 1:
- SKILL LEVEL (leading targets, etc.)
- learning curve
- pistol (or something like it that you start the game with)
- plasma pistol sucks (lol)
- powerful grenades
- rocket and shotgun from H1

From Halo 2:
- party system
- 16 boxes LAN
- Xbox LIVE
- bunch of features (no driving with flag, more than 2 teams, etc.) [DOESNT INCLUDE DUAL WIELDING]

I'm sure this is incomplete. If I had more time, I would go on for pages. But this is just some basic elements that, taken from each game, would make Halo 3 one hell of a game.

I've been told that the 3rd game of a seris is always the best. they take the best thing from both games and create a kick ass game. i think that 70%+ shuold be taking from halo 1

Halo1 is the best game ever made, and i think bungie should get a small team together to up date graphics, and bring it to live.

I really hope "Halo 3" improves on past mistakes and requires more skill. But its not coming out any time soon. Bungie hasn't even officially anounced it! I just don't want to wait another 3 years to only be disapointed, again. It seems to me that Bungie could easily please the gamers that prefer HaloCE by making it xbox live enabled. They wouldn't have to change the game or gameplay at all. Actually, I would prefer that they leave everything the exact way it is, glitches and all!

Bungie could satisfy a lot of people if they just gave us a playlist with MLG settings so we didn't have to put up with an SMG start and lame gametypes like phantoms, swords, and fiesta. I started playing Live again the other night and was blown away by how little skill the gameplay required. After going back to playing Halo: CE and Halo 2 MLG settings system link games, it was incredibly frustrating to get owned by awful players who happened to have dual weapons when I spawned.

I'd buy Halo 1 again if it was Live enabled, I love Halo 2 but it could just be a change of pace is all.

Bungie has said they aren' t going to do it. they don't like rehashing old stuff unless im assuming its maps or features from the previous games.

there are 2 easy ways of playing halo1/CE online. XBC and halo1 for the PC. and you still get average 2000 people playing halo PC nightly. just because your friends and most people play halo2 on XBOX live doesnt mean you have to get all butt hurt about it and demand halo1 for live.

it ain't happening, give it a rest.

Please, if you're not going to say anything supportive, than go play Halo 2 and enjoy yourself. There are gamers here that prefer playing a more skill based game. And Bungie never said they're not going to do it, they simply said it is unlikely. We're just voicing our opinions so they can see the amount of support for making this game.

For most gamers XBC and HaloPC are extremely laggy.

Actually, they HAVE said that they aren't doing it. Over and over and over again.

If you're so sure about that, then lets see the link.

Um..Havoc..Didn't you read the rumour buster? It was posted some time in October, it clearly said Halo Online isn't gonna happen.

Again, none of your links say that they are never going to make HaloCE for xbox live. They simply say that they were not working on it at the time the questions were asked. I'm sorry for going a little overboard, but I feel strongly about this. Again, I understand that the odds aren't that great, but I am willing to keep this going anyway, to try to convince Bungie.

The point of this thread is to convice Bungie to make HaloCE xbox live enabled. I know they havn't and are not planning to make it, but we are here to persuade them to do it for their fans. As of yet, I havn't heard that it is technically impossible to recreate HaloCE with xbox live, so all we have to do is convince them to do it.

It's not technically impossible to do, but you have to re-write some of then code, add the software, test it, market it, pay the programmers {When they could be working on DLC} and sell it for 50${ Overpriced, really}. There are 1.5 million Live useres, roguhly a third play Halo 2. Assuming that they all by the game, the profits would still be less than what Halo 3 could give them.

There are a lot of people that would buy this game that are not found in this forum. That means that everyone that voted yes for this (over 87%), owns a copy of Halo2, has xbox live, and is still willing to buy an xbox live enabled version of HaloCE if it were made. That doesn't include all of the gamers out there that refuse to subscribe to xbox live because they do not like Halo2.
