Subject: Spartan's 6th Sense...

O.K., I'm not talking about the movie. What I'm talking about really isn't even a 6th sense, but more of a "heighting" of senses. If you've read The Fall of Reach, then you might remember the part of the book when John 117 first recieves his augmentations. If you recall, he goes to workout and drops a weight and it seems to fall to slow. He then goes on to find out that he has a heightened sense of awareness after the augmentations. He can know see things slower than they are happening, hear much better, stronger ( of course ), and so on.
Do you think Bungie will some how put this into Halo 2. We know from the new MP vid that you can know jump much higher, although I think that is because of the new armor. Do you think they will impliment the much played out "matrix slow mo" vission... but in a much more original way. And before you start screaming, everyone is doing the slow mo thing... it's not origianl. Remember that everyone is also doing damagable vehicles, (starting to) dual weilding, interactive enviornments, real time lighting, aliens attack humans storylines, and so on. I don't mean to make it sound as if Bungie isn't original. I only mean to show you that everything Bungie puts in their games seems so much better and original compared to others; while at the same time, many of the compition out there have many of the same features. Bungie is the best, and I would expect that if they were to put some sort of slow mo vission in the game. It would be awsome... no matter how many other games/movies are doing it:)

Oh, if you want to see slow mo in a FPS ( A good one ) then check out the video of F.E.A.R. at fileplanet.com. It works great in that game:)

What the hell? This isn't english class. Besides, you can't tab over at the beginning of your paragraphs here at B.net. I guess you have a problem with that also.:)

that would be cool but i mean where on this massive controller layout would we put it and how exactly woud it work like limited time or as long as you want what would that really accomplish mean that even if you can see a bullet moving tward you if you are not fast enough to dodge it then there is no point i guess like gettin rid of that uselle peice of crap flashlight and make that the button but now lets consider the speed of a bullet and the horse power of you average vehicle if he gets stronger he uses guns and crap right so i guess melle would be stronger but he is already strong so is he gonna stop vehicles i think not. and how can he dodge bullets how fast is the chief i dont think he could really be going fast enough to dodge enough bullets to make a difference. So i really see no point.

I don't think there will be any slow-mo. By the time hes on Halo, he's used to the slow-mo, which is caused by the fact that his brain and eyes can take in information faster than its really going, so his reaction time and speed will benefit. So, unlike the Matrix, its always on, you just can't tell. This is one of the reasons that the marines die, because they can't dodge things as well (at all), since they aren't augmented.

Good point widowmakeronhalo... I didn't think anyone would catch that:)

MAby the can put it in one of the cutscene's. I think that would be cool and it won't effect the game it self

  • 07.02.2004 2:35 PM PDT

If it was in a cut scene then the MC would look really fast campared to everything/one around him.

I was thinking that to i would mind seeing it in a cut-scene that would be awesome to see the chief do some Ryu Hyabusa -blam!-

  • 07.02.2004 2:38 PM PDT

Agreed! Who wouldn't want to see the MC going crazy on someone's @$$.
