Yes, but only if they are implemented correctly. There is a certain Half-Life mod known as Natural-Selection (Marines vs. Flood-like aliens, multiplayer only) that has, in my opinion, the best jetpack of any game. It has a very limited fuel supply (roughly 20 seconds of air time), and is effected by the environment is very realistic ways; if you lose enough velocity, all the thrust in the world isn't going to save you from falling into the jaws of the waiting aliens. The best part of this jetpack, though, is that its fuel regenerates quickly when it's not being fired. It regenerates slightly slower than it is used, so skilled players can fly around indefinitely as long as nothing gets in their way. Anyways, I think this would be an awesome addition to Halo 2, especially in the space maps - but only in a few sections on a few levels. I can definitely see this working in multiplayer - air vehicles don't really unbalance gameplay (as evidenced by Halo PC), and the Banshee's already going to be in anyways. So yes, I am very much pro-jetpack, as long as it is implemented properly.
