Subject: Not able to play Halo 2 on xbox live

Hi, i got my Xbox back off Microsoft a couple of weeks ago, and since then i haven't been able to play Halo 2 online. It says new updates need to be installed, but then it keeps reinstalling the same updates. and i can never get anywhere other than to decline the update and play on campaign offline.

Anyone had similar problems or any advice? Thanks

Check out Llama's thread about your question. In computers, if downloaded information is corrupted in any way, sometimes you have to delete that info (and the cache memory) in order for a re-download to take place. The 360 is just a computer and the maps are just memory. When we are downloading maps and there's a disruption in the information flow chances are it will stop the re-download at that spot.

If you have a Xbox 360 console, clear your cache. You can do this by going to the dashboard, then the System blade, then Memory, then Hard Drive, and select Y for Device Options. At that screen press X, X, LB, RB, X, X and then Yes. Turn off your console and then turn it back on and load up Halo 2. If that doesn't work or if you have an original Xbox console, access Memory from the dashboard and delete the download content. Try downloading everything again.
