Instead of using the selected tags, y cant we use all of the html language. That way forum post could be more advanced, support pictures, and be more appealing. Those who know html would be happy, and every1 else could learn through a topic that a mod would make on the html language. Its just a though. Could ya consider it?

The Bungie administrators only give us limited HTML support because we (well, most of us) cannot be trusted with the full capabilities. Posting pictures and the like will not be a good considering the maturity level of the average Bungie.net user. What we have now works very well for the purpose.

True. Some ppl rnt mature enough 2 hav it. But thats wat we hav forum nijas and modders. They could just delete any inappropiat posts. Also, they should put posts with the new tags through an admittance thing. A specific team of modders would decide if it was apprpiate or not and if it is, post it, if its not, they delete it. Soon ppl would realize that they rnt gonna get anything inappropiate through the modders, and theyll stop. Or they could make ppl put in requests 2 become a "Permitted member", one who can use the entire html language. Then they would only hav 2 look at the "Permitted Members" 2 c if their posts r inappropriate. That could work.

It is obvious you have not been here that long by this statement:
Soon ppl would realize that they rnt gonna get anything inappropiate through the modders, and theyll stop.
What you must realize is that people don't learn, and adding more load to the moderator's tasks is cruel and unusual punishment (they already have to deal with a lot).

Listen, I would like to have more functionality, but it is never going to happen.

The very second that the feature is added, I can guarantee some one is going to post -blam!- or something stupid. Just look at other forums and compare us to them. We are very mature and friendly, most other forums are giant flame wars. Also they have 4x as many mods and staff as we do. We only have what? 6-9 ninjas, and like 10 staff with only like 2-4 that actually moderate/use Bungie.net. Also how often is it that you see a entire page of locked/deleted/censored threads here? Maybe once a month? (If not less). I personally prefer things the way they are now. Maybe in the next html coding they will have some kind of sensor that will auto remove inappropriate images. Until then just deal with things the way they are.

We may as well give everyone a button labeled "Click to Abuse."

Only moderators get that button.

Some of us prefer the old manual method of dishing out abuse.

We didn't always have these fancy button things. Just two sticks and a rock, and we had to fight over who got the rock!
Until the rock falls off the table and some fool picks it up and hits me with it.

Allowing people to post in unrestricted HTML...
Would make the ninjas prematurely bald, and make the forums look...unappealing.

Since i can c that u all disagree with the idea, i guess it is wrong 2 hav the entire html language. I just think U should be able 2 use some others, like font sizes, or other things that wont make it hard fer the modders

It's the same reason why we aren't allowed to have many things (pictures in sigs, custom avatars, and anything people can/will abuse). Some people will abuse anything if they get the chance.

Maybe you've seen the Vonage commercial with the "woo hoo" music, people can be stupid.
