Welcome to the Halo 2 dedicated forum!

Because this is a Halo 2 forum, please refrain from off topic conversation. There are a number of other forums available for Bungie topics, and the Flood is there for all your off topic needs.

Enjoy the new forums, guys. =)

If you have any questions, be sure to ask one of the moderators listed here.

Problem threads can be reported either to moderators, or to the Moderator column's Report database.

Forum Rules:

1. Please DO NOT advertise your chapter here. You can use The Classifieds for that.

2. No petitions.

3. Do not link to adult content or to sites that contain information on any type of software piracy. Do not discuss these topics, either.

4. No spam. No discussions about spam. Read on through this thread for more information about spam.

5. Impersonating forum moderators and/or bungie employees is strictly prohibited. Do not break this rule. You will be banned. No warning will be issued.

6. No bad jokes.

7. Seven is darker.

8. Bumping is illegal. Breaking this law has high consequences. Such as but not limited to: assignation by ninja, hippo licking, and/or complete forum thread annihilation. Or we will most likely just lock your topic. Don't bump!

9. Xbox hacking/modding discussions will not be permitted on any of the bungie.net forums.

10. Don't Flame each other. Use your manners and common sense. If you disagree with someone, do so gracefully.

11. Noob, Newbie, N00b, and any other variants on the word newb are hereby banned from use on this forum. Any user who violates this rule will be put to death.

12. No political commentary of any kind will be tolerated on the forums. These kinds of conversations almost always devolve into insult contests.

13. In the course of the large beta test program Bungie is conducting on Halo 2, it is inevitable that some jerk will take pictures of the game and sneak them onto the internet. Considering that these images, or any information that is released with Bungie's expressed consent is considered a breach of the responsible party's nondisclosure agreement, users found discussing these materials may find their posts deleted without warning. Further incursions, such as the posting of or linking to these pieces of information may result in that user's account being blacklisted. To make it simple: Do not post links to or discuss leaked beta information and images.

14. Do not create threads directed at single users. This is what the PM system is for. On a similar note, do not create threads to express your dislike of other users, even if they are spammers or flamers. This breaks both this rule and rule #10, which means double trouble for the person that does it. If you believe a user is a problem for the forums, message a moderator.

There are plenty of more rules I could list, but I mean only a brain damaged monkey would break them. Use common sense and your very best online etiquette. Read the Bungie.net term s of use and code of conduct for more specific bungie.net dos and donts.

Suggestions:

Use a spell checker to check your posts for misspellings. There's no point in making a forum topic if we can't understand it because of multiple spelling errors.

Don't use stupid abbreviations. (Example: Your = ur, You = u, Are = r, I = EYE, one = 1)

Spam Do's and Don'ts

Do's:

1. IGNORE THE SPAMMER
2. Message SketchFactor, Achronos, Frankie, or one of the mods. Be sure to include a link to the problem post!
3. Wait patiently for the mods to come and clean up the mess.

Don'ts:

1. Reply to the spam in any way shape or form.
2. Start new posts or polls that have anything to do with the spammer.
3. Message the admins and moderators more than once. Keep in mind: You're not the only one to notice the spammer!

You'll note I put "Ignore the spammer" in bold. This is because of what a spammer is. A spammer's entire sense of purpose lies in angering the forum members and moderators. So, by replying to them with demands, empty threats, or even polite requests, you're confirming that the Spammer's goals are being achieved, and encouraging the spammer to continue. The same goes for starting a new post, such as "Do you hate this guy?" "This guy should be banned," or "Petition to get this guy to stfu." Not only are you telling the spammer "Hey, you're doing a good job, keep it up!" you're also contributing to the spam by posting more off topic threads to the forums.

Keep all this in mind the next (inevitable) time some immature brat comes across the forums. And for those of you that do attempt to alert the mods, thanks. =)

Rules for ILoveBees Discussion.

It's clear that some rules need to be made and enforced. The ilovebees speculation can be good, but it's getting out of hand. Almost as bad as the out of control discussion is the people complaining about it. So, here are the new rules for ILoveBees discussion.

1. ALL ilovebees discussion must take place in New Mombasa. ILB threads started in any of the other forums will be locked. Note that I said locked, not moved.

2. Any threads that are made that are repetitive and offer nothing to the speculation will be locked.

3. If discussion in a thread gets out of hand (IE, speculation goes from being decent, thought out ideas to worthless drivel), the thread will be locked. The exception to this rule is if spammers attack a thread, in which case the mods will do what we can to clean up the mess.

4. Those of you that thought that the countdown on ILB.com pointed at an early release of Halo 2, Frankie O'Connor has said this:

Halo 2 comes out on Nov. 9th or Nov. 11th for the UK. It does NOT come out on Aug 24th. You know what does come out on Aug. 24th? Some OXM special which does NOT, and I repeat does NOT have a Halo 2 demo on it. No clue how that rumor gained so much momentum. But to reiterate, Halo 2 comes out Nov. 9th or Nov.11th for the UK.

Further, this was said in a later update:

I've sorta been following the fuss – too busy to really get into it, but Halo 2 will still release on Nov. 9th in the US and most other places, and Nov. 11th in the UK. Nor will we release a playable demo, anytime soon. In fact, we're so busy with the game that there's no chance we'll even think about a playable demo until after Halo 2 ships. And that is official. It isn't happening folks. The game is however, happily on schedule for November 9th.

Further still, Achronos has also commented that Halo 2 is not coming out on the 24th in various replies to threads that consider other possibilities. The bottom line is that this means Bungie's official stance is that Halo 2 is NOT coming out August 24th, nor any other time except November 9th (11th in the UK). As such, people that make the suggestion that the game IS being released on the 24th are insinuating that Bungie employees are lying. Bungie doesn't like that. Therefore, any threads trying to discuss false release dates such as August 24th will be locked or deleted without notice, and repeat offenders will be blacklisted from the forums.

Note that this does not mean ILoveBees discussion is banned from the forums. Just discussion about false release dates.

The moderators will be enforcing these rules with extreme prejudice. ANY inane threads about ilovebees will be locked, and a explanation may or may not be provided.

Those of you that aren't interested in the ILoveBees mystery, don't read the threads, it's that simple.
