Yea, i'm real scared. I better run out and find the info to appease you because this whole forum revolves around you and everyone is really concerned and worried that you might be angry.

Damn Mickermack8 you need friends....

Anyway, what doyou mean talk to team mates, if you mean over xbox live you can use the headset with teamates and talk tactics. If you are talking about the AI im sure you can press a button while facing the marines to place orders this time around, not sure though,

Well, although your ending threat didn't seem to cause much fear, I think they will allow team chatting, because there will be no point in chatting with enemies.

SB-117

When playing team games im pretty sure this is how it works due to the proximiity voice stuff:

You can only talk to your team-mates BUT If you are nearby an enemy they can hear you too. If you are right next to an enemy you will speak to him as if he were your teammate whereas if hes far away, your voice will be faint to him.

well you know what I mean :S The further he is the quieter he is until he is completely silent.

Devil is Double is Deuce and Joker always trumps Deuce.

they'll probably have something like in splinter cell pandora tomorrow on live where you can only hear your teammate. makes it easier to plan and coordinate

That doesn't make sense. SPARTANs use super-secure COM channels when they communicate with their teammates. Therefore, the volume of their voices would remain constant regardless of the location of the listener. When talking to enemies, a SPARTAN would use a non-secure COM channel.

Yeah I think they would have some kind of toggle so enimies can hear you (and then the proximity thing would work) Otherwise it just doesn't make sense, you are in a helmet.

They better be able to let you switch between Team-talk and Non-team-talk, because if they didn't that would be just plain stupid...

Like if-say you and a teammember or two managed to infiltrate their base and were coordinating an attack stratagy... wouldn't it be crappy if one of the enemies walking by or near you heard you and attacked or set up an ambush...

They already confirmed proximity voice, but it would be pretty sad to see such a wonderful idea ruined by such a minor problem.

Now I don't know which button they could use for this toggle, but I do hope they include it in the final version and I have faith in Bungie that they will do what is best for the players...

I think an easy way to set up the toggle with out taking away from controls is back button + A or something like that. Since back displays scores and team realted info it would make sense that pressing a button in conjunction with this would toggle wheather enimies could hear you and it would be very fast to do. On the idea of proximity voice, wouldnt it be cool to do that to distract the enemy :-)

The proximity voice is for FFA games only. Its the same in Rainbow Six Three survival, but I hope bungie makes the distance farther then 15 meters.
