Hi guys. I recently bought the wireless adapter for the Xbox pads etc, for PC. I linked my controller, and it worked fine with other games (Ship Simulator 2008, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory for example), but when I tried Halo 1, it showed up but the buttons wouldn't respond at all when I was trying to program the commands (such as 'A' for jump).

I just wanted to be sure that this is a bug, and not a problem on my end. If so, does anyone of you have/know a fix?

Thanks.

It does work. You have to activate the controller under gamepad options. It should show up as "XBOX 360 Wireless Controller". Just move it over to active controllers and it will work. I use for Halo PC.

I think it's trying to tell you to not be a -blam!- and use the pc controls that are 10 times more accurate. Honestly i don't know what the deal is with people using controllers, because mouses are SO much more accurate.

Honestly, tell that to the millions of console gamers out there. I use both.

Stupid parents let their stupid children play games that are rated M when they should be playing Big Birds Spelling Adventures

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

Ditto here. I use the controller sometimes and the keyboard/mouse sometimes.

This is coming from someone whose avatar is the disc to the console game. Nice job. I use both it really depends on my mood. The 360 controller is alot better than any other controller I've tried for PC. And as accuracy goes, how can you justify that? Sure a mouse is better for aiming, but thats why there is auto aim for controllers. To level the playing field. There really is no way to gauge how well it levels since its a matter of preference and ones one ability to do/utilize either or. Its an opinion of course but if you wanna look at numbers I'd say controller gamers out number Keyboard/mouse players since consoles dont really provide an option for you. Hence the when going to PC you use whats familiar to you. And here stops my rant.

I have the same problem. The wired 360 controller works for me, but when I tried the wireless it doesn't work. I am in no inherit danger because I have the wired controller, but I am curious why the wireless doesn't work for me.

Hey, douche, the OP is asking for advice, not your opinion.

Anyway, the only thing I have used my adapter for is to try to play WoW, and that didnt work out too well, so i wouldnt be able to help you there.

I just use the wired one I got at gamestop for $20 less. It plugs right into the USB slots and still works on the 360, lol.

As MUCH as I love being sworn out by newbies, I'll ignore your ignorance, and carry on.

Thanks for the replies guys, but it still doesn't work.

To the guy who mentioned something about active controllers, I don't understand, could someone perhaps elaborate?

Holy hand-grenades, you see what happens when I'm not around to dispense the sass in a nice civilized manner?

Did you get the wireless adapter and the drivers from MS? I've been using a wired controller and I've had no problems.

My advice would be to suck it up and get a wired controller, IMO the wireless is more trouble than it's worth. Like having the battery die at the most inopportune moment.
