As the dust clears, Excommunicado stands once more to glance over the destruction he has wrought on the massive gate.
Dusting himself off, he warily crept into the dark chamber.
From deep into the darkness, came a deep rumbling sound. Excommunicado clenched his teeth as sconces ignited- as if out of thin air- one by one, outlining the chambers walls, and revealing trinkets of Kings of the former empire. The jewels glistened; casting an eery red glow.
The rumbling grew louder, and turned into dark, demonic incantations. Now, apart from the chanting came the sound of something very large, moving.
Excommunicado drew his sword, blade ringing with a most potent resonance.
At that moment, the creature drew itself into the light, and stayed motionless, as if frozen, with two glistening orange eyes staring down upon Excommunicado, who returned the stare equally as intensely.
The beast stood 15 feet high, a powerful juggernaut of a monster, made entirely of stone. As it moved, stones creaked, and with every step it made, the sound lashed Excommunicado's ears.
"Well, this could be a slight problem," said Excommunicado as he sheathed his sword and popped his nect. The monster charged forward with the onset of battle, fervent with rage against the intruder.
As it lunged towards him, Excommunicado leapt to meet his opponent, and upon impact, clung to his foe and scrambled up onto the beasts head.
As the guardian swung its arms to maul Excommunicado, Ex leapt up to the roof, to which he found a hold and hung from. The monster, upon losing his foe, slammed the ground in rage.
Struggling to keep his hold on the small invert of the ceiling, he tried as best he could to recall the words of the spell that would definitely conquer his formidable opponent.
As the creature hurled stones across the room, the words came to Excommunicado like an unexpected gift. He dropped 20 feet to the floor, with the words on his lips...
"Eyiscai/iunis/ealah, yiscai/iunis/ealah, yiscai/iunis/ealah, yiscai/iunis/ealah, EANIA!"
As he screamed the final word, he felt the exhilarating rush as the magic flowed through him, intoxicating him with a most warm and pleasant feeling.
The floor beneath the creature instantaneously turned a bright glowing red, and the creature started sinking into the molten rock. It let off a tearing high- pitched scream, and flailed helplessly as the molten orifice devoured it whole.
As soon as the rush came, it had left Excommunicado, and he collapsed onto the stone floor- now cold from the recently subisded spell. Drained of all energy, Excommunicado willed his head up to gaze upon the Sceptre of Inali. It glowed with a faint radiance, illuminating the room and casting misshapen shadows.
The prospect of his victory gave rise to newfound energy in Excommunicado, as he shoved the ground beneath him, and struggled to his feet. Once again attaining his full stature, Excommunicado took the sceptre and braced himself for the long trek ahead, and forged his way through the darkness, led by the majestic power of the sceptre.
