I have also experienced this but in the Assault on the Control Room and there were three. Its a little glitch where when you hit the loading mark and checkpoint and there are enemies respawning, (usually when you rush ahead like i did). They stand completely still and you can attach sticky nades or shoot needlers in them as you said earlier or just shoot them. But once you go through another loading everything explodes that you put in them. If you throw a frag nade it will have gone off at first then once you hit the marker the grunt will scream and fly up as if hed been hit by a nade. I have also found this with the Elite you find in the Pillar of Autumn where he apperars on the other side of the door and the marines shoot him. He was also frozen, but i didnt have any weopons so i couldnt do much.
Another couple of glitches i have noticed with the whole loading thing is the one where you have a pistol out and its shooting plasma rifle. It happens when your switching weopons right as you hit loading. Its happened to me on Assault, and on Two Betrayles except i had a plasma pistol that shot rockets.
My favorite is the infinate ammo, which only works on coop. Its done by reloading your weopon right as your buddy goes through a loading point. The most reliable place to do this is in Assault after the part where you have to cross the bridge in the tank, and you reenter the tunnel system. I've also gotten lucky and done it in Truth and Reconcialiation. What happens is every time you relaod it says it has the same number of clips as when you went through the loading. Only problem is you cant use vehicles or switch weopons. But if you and your buddy have one infinite sniper and one infinite rocket, it pretty much outweighs not being able to use a vehicle.
