I was just playing halo a few mins ago, and I never seen what just happened before, I was driving my ghost and stop for a moment and picked up some ammo, on "The assualt on the control room" and only one marine was left..... he was walking by and stole my ghost I caught it on video because I wasnt sure that happens to much. he drove it for quite a while and I had to find another vechical cuz everytime I approched him he drove away. is this supposed to happen? and if I am not mistaken halo2 they should be able to do that right?

i think it is cool that you will be able to ride in the back of a warthog now. i wonder if it can only happen during scripted events though or if you can tell a marine to get in and drive. i doubt you can do the latter.

I heard in a magazine I think it was EGM that the marines driving the hogs wouldnt be scripted events. In e3 2003 it was scripted though.

one thing about it though is if you climb in do they just know exactly where you need to go and how to get there? so in a sense it will become a scripted event.

They are controlled by the AI and react as they need to. Meaning if a Warthog is available and you don't snag it, they will. They will then react to combat and enemy deployment as to how and where they drive. At E3 2003, yes they were scripted, but in the final game they will not be.

ahh yes they react but eventually you need to get from point A to point B. if you are riding in the back and can't lead them how will they know where to go. will they just drive to point B without stopping? or will they stop and engauge enemies as you run into them. just wonder how they will handle this scripting?

I've been run over by a Marine-driven ghost so many times it's not even funny anymore...

I'll leave a ghost open for a teammate to grab on co-op and then I'll be sniping or walking somewhere and BAM I'm dead...

THEY BETTER FIX THIS IN HALO 2, for the love of god... no marine with any sort of semi-intelligence would run over the MC...

That is a very good question and I now start to wonder that too... how will the AI controlled drivers play... I wonder if they will go nonstop if everyone or someone has low health, or engage enemies if everyonie has full health... hmm... just opinions though...
